Lancet device

A lancet device has a needle assembly and a needle carrier. The needle assembly has a casing, a needle hub, a retracting unit and a limit unit. The needle hub with a needle is mounted in the casing. The retracting unit and the limit unit connect to the needle hub to limit the needle hub to move. The lancet carrier has a housing, a pushing rod, a spring and a cap. The housing connects the needle assembly and has a pressing unit. The pushing rod is mounted in the housing and abuts with the needle hub after pushing the pressing unit to release the force of the spring so the needle protrudes from the needle assembly. After pressing the cap, the needle assembly releases from the needle carrier. Therefore, the new needle assembly can be mounted in the lancet carrier to prick again.

A compact single use lancet device wherein a lancet is movably disposed. A driving element is further provided and is structured to move the lancet into a piercing orientation wherein a piercing tip protrudes from the device and can pierce a patient's skin. A retention assembly maintains the lancet in a tensioned, ready to fire orientation and prevents both inward and outward movement of the lancet, until released by an actuator. The actuator is structured to engage a patient and be urged inwardly into the housing in order to bring about the release of the lancet from its tensioned, ready to fire orientation and result in driven movement of the lancet into the piercing orientation. A protective cover is also included to engage the lancet and shield a piercing tip thereof, as well as to shield the actuator and prevent inward movement of the actuator as a result of the protective covers engagement with the retained lancet.

Push activation lancet device

A lancet device including a lancet having a puncturing element disposed within a two-piece housing including a rear housing and a forward housing. Relative axial movement of the rear housing toward the forward housing directly drives the lancet to a puncturing position wherein the puncturing element extends through the forward housing. During such relative axial movement, a drive structure applies a driving force against the lancet and disengages from the lancet based on deflecting structure in the housing, thereby releasing the driving force applied to the lancet. A retention member then retracts the lancet back within the housing, with the drive structure maintained disengaged from the lancet to prevent re-use.
