6 results about "Toxin binding" patented technology

A toxin binder is a supplement that can attach itself to a toxic substance and render it harmless while escorting it out of the body through the digestive or urinary tract. Many of these binders are so effective they can actually render various poisonous substances harmless.

VHH POLYPEPTIDES THAT BIND TO LIGHT CHAIN (LC) PROTEASES OF BOTULINUM NEUROTOXINS (BoNTs) AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF

PendingUS20260184813A1Antiendomysial antibodiesToxin activity
Products, pharmaceutical compositions, methods of use, and kits are provided for treating a patient suffering from botulinum neurotoxin intoxication. Featured are single-domain variable heavy-chain (VHH) polypeptides (antibodies) that target and neutralize the light chain (LC) protease domains of botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT), i.e., BoNT LC / A and BoNT LC / B, and that advantageously provide late and post-exposure therapy for botulism patients. The LC / A toxin-binding and LC / B toxin-binding VHH polypeptides, which can be recombinantly produced, specifically bind to the LCs of the botulinum neurotoxins to inhibit toxin activity and treat intoxication.

METHOD OF USING MYCOTOXIN BINDER IN BROILER CHICKEN FEED TO REDUCE THE IMMUNOTOXICITY OF AFLATOXIN B1 AND OCHATOXIN A

This invention concerns a method of using mycotoxin binder in broiler chicken feed to reduce the immunotoxicity of aflatoxin B1 and ochratoxin A. This method is implemented by mixing mycotoxin binder into broiler chicken feed contaminated with aflatoxin B1 and ochratoxin A at a certain dose, then providing the feed to broiler chickens during the rearing period. The application of this method is able to reduce the toxic impact of mixed mycotoxins on the immune system of broiler chickens by improving the immune response and protection against oxidative stress. This method provides benefits in the form of improving the health and endurance of broiler chickens and reducing economic losses in the poultry industry due to decreased performance and health of livestock.

In-situ binding method for evaluating binding of Bt toxin and midgut epithelial cells of Lepidoptera pest larvae

The invention relates to an in-situ binding method for evaluating binding of Bt toxin Cry1Ac and midgut epithelial cells of cotton bollworm larvae. The method comprises the following steps: incubating and culturing midgut tissues of larvae of lepidoptera pests and a Bt toxin-containing Sf-900 II cell culture solution, carrying out immunostaining, observing and photographing through a laser confocal microscope, and finally carrying out quantitative processing on a fluorescence image by utilizing ImageJ software so as to calculate an average unit area fluorescence signal value. And further evaluating the difference between the binding amounts of the midgut epithelial cells and the Bt toxins of the larvae of different strains. The method can intuitively and accurately observe and evaluate the binding condition of the Bt toxin and the midgut epithelial cells on the premise of retaining the original structure and physiological environment of the midgut tissue of the larvae, provides direct data support for Bt resistance research, assists in analyzing the pest Bt resistance mechanism, has important significance in formulating resistance early warning and treatment strategies, and has a wide application prospect. The method is suitable for the biotechnical fields of Bt toxin insecticidal mechanism research, lepidoptera pest drug resistance mechanism exploration and the like.

Micro-nano system for peritoneal dialysis

PendingCN121288058APeritoneal dialysisMicro nanoPeritoneal dialysate
The invention relates to a micro-nano system for peritoneal dialysis. The components of the micro-nano system comprise large-mass substances, such as macromolecules, polymers and tiny structures formed by specific substances. The large-mass substances have the advantage of high combining capacity with wastes / toxins in the dialysate. The micro-nano system is dissolved or suspended in the dialysate, and large-mass substances in the micro-nano system extract and enrich waste in the peritoneal dialysate during peritoneal dialysis, so that the capacity of the dialysate is enhanced.

Functional polymers and endotoxin separation materials targeting endotoxins, their preparation and application

This invention provides a functional polymer targeting endotoxins and its applications, belonging to the fields of materials science, polymer science, and biomedical engineering. The invention designs and synthesizes a functional polymer targeting endotoxins through free radical polymerization. The functional polymer consists of an antifouling unit, an endotoxin-binding unit, and a coupling unit connecting the polymer and the endotoxin-binding unit, wherein the endotoxin-binding unit is an affinity polypeptide targeting endotoxins. In vitro and in vivo endotoxin clearance experiments show that the functional polymer exhibits high specificity and affinity for endotoxins, while also possessing good antifouling, anti-interference, and blood compatibility properties. It can achieve precise clearance of endotoxins from the blood and can be widely applied in various fields of biomedicine, such as bioseparation, biodetection, blood purification, and disease diagnosis and treatment.

Small molecule inhibitors of bacterial toxins

PendingUS20260152470A1Organic active ingredientsAntibacterial agentsGastrointestinal cancerBowels diseases
Described herein are compounds and compositions for use in treatment or prevention of an inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal cancer, or a systemic bacterial infection in a subject in need thereof. The subject may be colonized by one or more pathogenic bacterial strains such as B. fragilis, E. faecalis, or C. perfringens. In certain aspects, the disclosure provides a method of diminishing the pathogenic effects of these bacterial strains by administering a compound that binds to and / or inhibits one or more toxins produced thereby.
