A system and method provide for the creation and operation of real-time enterprise-wide, personalize supervisory and control data acquisition systems. Personalized SCADA applications are constructed from a virtual application service and a personal agent framework using simple drag and drop operations or other high level action. The virtual application service includes a communications gateway that communicates with disparate and non-interoperable systems and external field devices to communicate low level time data collected from such systems into the application environment transforming the collected data in a single common data format. The virtual application service includes application cells that receive the reformatted data and process it to provide high level analysis and context, storing the processed data in an object server. The object server provides a unified, hierarchical object model for all of the data received from the underlying devices and systems. The virtual application service communicates with personal agent frameworks containing presentation cells and service agents. The service agents are representative of the virtual application service, and provide the personal agent framework with access to the object server to receive and send data from the object server to the presentation cells. The presentation cells subscribe to the object server's data objects via the service agent. Presentation cell provide a graphical representation and mapping of data objects and hence underlying devices and systems, to allow a user to manage and control such systems.

A computer implemented method and system simultaneously distributes content data streams (CDSs) of multiple content formats, for example, live cable television content, gaming content, social media content, user generated content, etc., to one or more computing devices. An interactive content distribution platform (ICDP) receives user selections of the CDSs and the content formats via a graphical user interface (GUI) and receives one or more CDSs in one or more content formats from multiple content sources based on the user selections. A management service processor to provide management of virtual machine monitoring is described. In one example, an event on a computer system is monitored at a sensor of a management system residing on the computer system. A record of the event is generated in a generic data format. The event is signaled to the management system, and the record is sent to an event routing service of the management system.

A plurality of control blocks are built in memory indicating operations to perform to transfer components of the data record in the first data format to locations in memory in the second data format. A data transfer device is signaled to access the control blocks built in the memory. A method for routing information in a flexible routing network which connects disparate initiators and targets includes implementing a packetization logic at an interface between an initiator or a target and a routing network to receive transmission traffic from the initiator or the target and to packetize the transmission traffic into packets. Each packet includes header and body portions. Each of the header and body portions includes one or more standard sized transmission units. Each standard sized transmission unit includes control and payload sections. A payload section associated with the body portion includes one or more chunks. The method includes encoding the one or more chunks using a Common Data Format (CDF). All transmissions within the routing network are based on the CDF. The CDF facilitates narrow-to-wide and wide-to-narrow link width conversion without having to manipulate subparts of data fields in the transmission traffic.

In a system and method for processing data, a user interface enables a user to enter mapping data to enable incoming data to be converted to a common data format. A database stores the mapping data and data quality rules, and a receiver receives data from a data source. The processor applies the data quality rules to the common format data to identify any potential errors in the common format data and notifies the user of any potential errors found in the common format data.
