Hearing aid communications earpiece

A mechanism for detachably mounting an earpiece having a receiver and an acoustic tube to any one of a variety of hearing aids includes using an adhesive and a clip attached to the acoustic tube to adhere the clip and thus the earpiece to a surface of the hearing aid, so that an open end of the acoustic tube is near an acoustic aperture of the hearing aid and can thus provide an acoustic sound signal to a microphone within the hearing aid. Alternatively, the clip can be provided with a magnet and a ferric plate can be fixed to a surface of the hearing aid, so that magnetic forces between the magnet and the ferric plate will attach the earpiece and the hearing aid together. The magnet and the ferric plate can be chosen so that the earpiece will separate from the hearing aid when a relative force between the earpiece and the hearing aid exceeds a predetermined threshold, thus preventing injury to a user wearing the hearing aid and the earpiece.

Single beam spray gun positioning system

InactiveUS7040546B2Simplified targetingSimplified positioning systemLiquid surface applicatorsWatering devicesLight beamOptoelectronics
A system for positioning a spray apparatus relative to a surface, in which the spray apparatus directs a liquid coating such as paint toward the surface for applying the liquid to the surface in a spray pattern. A light beam emitter is interconnected with the spray apparatus, and emits a light beam in a predetermined orientation relative to the spray pattern such that the light beam strikes the surface in a center defined by the spray pattern when the spray apparatus is positioned a predetermined distance from the surface. The light beam is oriented such that the distance of the spray apparatus corresponds to a distance providing optimal application of the coating to the surface, to minimize waste and overspray. The light beam emitter may be engaged with the spray apparatus by a releasable mounting arrangement, such that the light beam emitter can be selectively mounted to the spray apparatus. The light beam is emitted from a light beam emitter housing, such as a laser generator. The angle of the light beam relative to the spray pattern can be adjusted so as to vary the distance from the surface at which the light beam coincides with the center of the spray pattern, to provide a gauge for optimal spray application for varying spray parameters.

Transport assistance device for large, wheeled refuse containers

This invention relates generally to vehicle attachments, in particular to a device that enables vehicle-powered towing of large, wheeled refuse containers. The devices used in this invention disclose a support structure which accommodates a variety of vehicle hitch and refuse container heights, a hook attached in a way to permit large vertical motion while rotational motion about a vertical axis is restricted, and a movable locking device that is integral to the hook. The support structure mounts into a typical trailer hitch receiver mounted to a vehicle. A transverse snubber bar extending from the support structure prevents the container from being crushed in the event of vehicle reversal. The hook is attached to the support structure and is configured to connect to an element on a large wheeled refuse container, then allow that connection point to be vertically repositioned tipping the container forward. This action allows the center of gravity of the container to be rotated from behind the containers wheels, to a point forward of the wheels for towing.

The front face of the plate may be provided with a plurality of mutually spaced dimensioned cut-outs. A universal clip which is a channel shaped member having integral projections extending from the back surface thereof may also provided. The projections are also mutually spaced and dimensioned to register on the cut-outs in the mounting plate and to be received therein to secure the clip to the mounting plate. The clip in turn receives a conventional bracket or an interface plate which is a track like member attached to either a shutter, or a conventional type bracket wherein the interface plate itself is slidably received in the clip. An alternate embodiment shows a projection extending outwardly from a mounting bracket on the molding to receive the foot of a tension rod. The bracket can cover an inside or outside portion of the molding and be mounted on the molding by one or more tacks. Another embodiment mounts a box for the ends of a mini-blind and slots or holes can be provided for axial pins of rollers for shades.
