In certain example embodiments, a solar collector system including a plurality of reflectors is provided. Each reflector has a stiffening rib associated therewith and is attached thereto on a side facing away from the sun. At least one area on each stiffening rib is suitable for accommodating a polymer-based adhesive for bonding the rib to a side of the associated reflector facing away from the sun. Each stiffening rib is formed so as to substantially match a contour of the associated reflector. At least two of each rib, the associated reflector, and the adhesive have respective coefficients of thermal expansion within about 50% of one another. Each stiffening rib is sized and positioned on the associated reflector so as to increase an EI value thereof at least about 10 times or to at least about 9,180 pascal meters⁴. Methods of making the same also are provided in certain example embodiments.

A fixing frame for a solar energy module includes a frame body having inserting grooves for a supporting board and a locking chute for a solar panel, wherein the locking chute contains locking flanges. An I-shaped supporting board is installed into the inserting grooves of the frame body so that it can efficiently resist external forces. During assembly, the solar panel is inserted into the locking chute of the frame body and its top edge and bottom edge are secured by the locking flanges of the chute to ensure stability and high force resistance.

A mirror module including one or more rib elements made of the same materials as a rear plate and/or front plate. The rib elements are placed between the rear glass plate and the front glass plate to afford rigidity to the mirror module. Since the rib elements are made of the same materials as the rear plate and/or front plate, the rib elements have the same or similar coefficients of thermal expansion as the rear plate or the front plate. Consequently, when the mirror module is subject to temperature fluctuation, the rib elements exert less stress on the glass plates compared to structure elements made of the materials different from the rear or front glass plate. The rib elements may also be integrated with the rear plate to simplify the process for manufacturing the mirror module.

An absorber for a solar receiver with a casing of lengthways axis including at a first lengthways end, a collector to supply a heat transfer fluid; and at a second lengthways end, a collector for evacuating the heat transfer fluid. The casing includes a first wall having a face intended to be subjected to a luminous flux, a second wall facing the first wall, and side walls connecting said the first and second walls. The casing is formed by at least one rib extending lengthways, and attached to the first and to the second wall. The at least one rib includes windows, and deflectors associated with the windows. The deflectors cause a portion of the heat transfer fluid to flow through the windows, causing reblending of the heat transfer fluid.

A dual-exposure heat absorption panel is disclosed, which can be used in a solar receiver design. Generally, the heat absorption panel includes a tube panel through which a heat transfer fluid is flowed to absorb solar energy from heliostats that are focused on the tube panel. A structural support frame surrounds the tube panel. A stiffener structure runs across the exposed faces of the tube panel. The headers and other support structures on the periphery are protected by use of a heat shield.

A dual-exposure heat absorption panel is disclosed, which can be used in a solar receiver design. A solar energy collecting module includes a frame that is assembled without using screws. The peripheral frame components are joined together using locking links and one or more ribs extend along the back side of the solar panel and are coupled to opposed sides of the frame. The ribs are coupled to the frames by an edge key fastener that includes opposed first flanges and opposed second flanges, the first flanges separated from the second flanges by a gap. A building integrated solar mirror for use in a concentrated solar power (CSP) and concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) apparatus comprising a casing filled with fiber reinforced concrete having a reflective film attached to the concave curvature of the said casing, a process for its manufacture and use. The solar mirror characterized in that it forms an integral part of a building and can serve as roof or wall of the building, thus reducing the overall cost of transportation and installation of the said solar mirrors in CSP and CPV systems and also saving the enormous land required for the installation of these systems.

The invention relates to a roof hook for mounting of solar installation modules on roofs. The roof hook has a first fastening section, which extends in the X and Y direction for fixing a roof hook, a hook-shaped mount for fixing the solar installation module or a fastening profile for solar installation modules and a second fastening section which runs perpendicular to the first fastening section in the Z direction from the latter. The mount is adjustable on the second fastening section in the Z direction, and fasteners act obliquely to the Z direction for fixing the mount on the fastening section.
