Bone implant with osteo-inducing structure

A spine implant system having two or more adjacent segments that have a male-female annular interlocking relationship for increased mechanical stability and resistance to relative translation and rotation. One or more segments is provided with at least one perforation channel or void to promote osteo-induction within the segment. Optionally, two adjacent segments have at least one common or aligned perforation channel or void. Two or more spaced apart portions of a segment surface are optionally chamfered to provide easier fabrication and / or positioning of the segment. Two spaced apart exposed surface planes of an interlocked segment pair optionally are axially oriented at a small positive angle relative to each other, to approximate natural spine curvature. Segments in some embodiments have a curvilinear delta cross sectional shape and / or have crosshatched grooves in exposed surfaces. Many of the embodiments are useful in transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF).

Blender with elevator assembly and removable spindle

A blender for home or commercial use that is rugged enough to blend frozen beverages, simple to use and safe. The blender includes an upper housing with a front housing door that covers the moving blending machinery. The blender also includes a cupholder receiving area which allows the user to safely insert a frozen food or beverage cup inside a cupholder for blending. After the start button is pressed, the cup and cupholder will be lifted together for blending in a balanced, linear motion by an elevator assembly. Dual lead screws or a dual belt drive are preferably used in the elevator assembly to achieve this balanced, linear motion. As the cupholder is lifted upward, a cover will be pressed over the top opening of the inserted cup to prevent spillage during blending. The elevator assembly continues to lift the cupholder upward until the rotating cutter blades of a spindle assembly cut through successive layers of the frozen food or beverage. To facilitate cleaning, the spindle assembly is preferably removable from the blender through use of a quick release coupling mechanism.

Lift truck fork aligning system with operator indicators

A sensor system for substantially simultaneously measuring and detecting the verticality or perpendicularity of the forklift vehicle mast and the vertical height displacement of the forks. The sensor system then alerting the operator of the satisfactory assessment of the precondition alignment of the forks so that, without the need for visual checking of the vertical positioning of the forks, the operator can insert the forks under the pallet load support surface and lift the load without causing damage to either the pallet or the load.

Endoscopic and Transesophageal Oropharyngeal Airway

An oropharyngeal airway for use during diagnostic and surgical procedures, comprising a body with a proximal and a distal end. The distal end is sized for insertion through a protective bite block disposed in a patient's mouth. Both sides of the distal end are tapered to a curved distal edge. A flange is transversely opposed at the proximal end, preventing the proximal end from moving through the protective bite block and into the patient's mouth. An elliptically-arched channel in the shape of a lingual contour extends from the proximal end to the distal end. The channel includes a pair of tapered upstanding walls that guide the passage of a surgical instrument through the space between them. The oropharyngeal airway can be constructed of recyclable or biodegradable materials and is compatible with protective bite blocks of all sizes.

Fastening device

A fastening device comprising a main portion having a base end portion and a distal end portion wherein its base end is attached to a head intended to be in contact with a rim at the outer side of an aperture when the fastening device is located in the aperture. The main portion is provided with guiding elements in order to guide the fastening device when inserted into the aperture and resilient elements which during insertion will be pressed inwards in order to at a later stage, when the resilient elements have passed the rim of the aperture, resiliently move back and thus provide a locking of the fastening device by being in contact with the rim on the inside of the aperture. The guiding element is provided with at least three vanes which are attached at its bases to the head such that they are located at an essentially equidistant spacing from the centre point. The resilient elements are made up by segments which only are attached to the fastening device along one side of the segments to the vanes such that they are protruding from the vanes and extend in a direction towards an adjacent vane.
