Abstract

The invention relates to a saline-alkali tolerant functional water-retaining agent and a preparation method thereof. The water-retaining agent is graft copolymer of sulfonated humic acid, N-N'-methylenebisacrylamide and crylic acid; the structural formula of the water-retaining agent is shown in the specifications; and the water-retaining agent has high saline-alkali tolerance, and can absorb tap water in an amount which is 123 times that of the water-retaining agent and absorb sodium carbonate saline, with the pH value of 9, in an amount which is 85 times that of the water-retaining agent. The water-retaining agent can effectively adsorb free sodium ions and heavy metal ions and can effectively reduce alkalinity of soil so as to improve the physical and chemical structure of the soil. The water-retaining agent is prepared by a normal temperature polymerization method, and has a simple process and mild reaction conditions. The crylic acid and the humic acid serve as main raw materials; potassium, nitrogen and organic matters required by plant growth can be supplemented; and the sulfonated humic acid is released slowly, so that growth of plants is promoted.
