According to results of experiments, when PUF having a fireproof paint with a thickness of 2 mm is directly burned with alcohol burner flame at a temperature of 1000 DEG C for 90 minutes, a compact hard flame retardant layer is formed on the surface of the PUF; although 2 cm of the PUF is carbonized, no open flame appears.

The method has the advantages that the success rate of the sample can be increased, the rock core sample meeting the requirements can be processed, the environment-friendly effect is achieved and the labor efficiency is high.
