The invention discloses highly acetylated
glucomannan and application thereof in preparation of a product with an effect of relieving
prediabetes mellitus, and belongs to the technical field of medicines. In-vivo experiments prove that the
glucomannan with high
acetylation degree has the effect of relieving the prediabetic stage, which is specifically reflected in
weight gain of mice in the prediabetic stage, regulation of blood glucose
metabolism, improvement of glucose tolerance and
insulin resistance, regulation of blood
lipid metabolism, protection of liver and pancreatic tissues and reduction of epididymal fat
cell size. The invention provides an important basis for developing a dietary formula suitable for prediabetic patients, and provides a new method for prevention and management of
diabetes mellitus.
