The application relates to a shear thickening fluid
damper, which belongs to the technical field of dampers. The shear thickening fluid
damper comprises an inner cylinder, an outer cylinder, a
piston rod, a one-way valve and a moving suction device. The inner cylinder is arranged in the outer cylinder. The one-way valve is arranged between the outer periphery of the bottom of the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder. The upper part of the one-way valve is filled with
nitrogen or shear thickening fluid, and the lower part of the one-way valve is filled with shear thickening fluid. The inner cylinder is filled with
silicon oil. The
piston rod is a double-rod type or a single-rod type. The
piston is arranged in the inner cylinder. The
piston rod is arranged to extend out of the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder at two ends or one end. The
piston rod moves up and down in the inner cylinder. The moving suction device is symmetrically arranged in the inner cylinder at two ends of the
piston rod. When the external load is small, the moving suction device connects the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder as a whole. The piston rod moves in the inner cylinder. The
silicon oil is extruded and sheared to absorb energy. When the load is too large, the moving suction device separates the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder. The inner cylinder is driven to move downwards by the piston rod. The shear thickening fluid in the lower cavity of the outer sleeve is extruded and sheared to be shear thickened, so that energy is dissipated.
