Ammunition having surface indicia and method of manufacture

Ammunition, such as shotshells used in waterfowl hunting, have indicia applied to substantially all of the external surface to reduce glare normally a problem in conventional ammunition. The indicia, such as a camouflage pattern, is applied either through the use of inkjet printing directly on the shotshell surface or through the application of a heat transfer sleeve to which the indicia has been previously applied. The process of applying the camouflage pattern may be incorporated into the manufacture of the ammunition or may be operable as a standalone process used for pre-manufactured ammunition.

Homeland intelligence systems technology "h-list" and battlefield apparatus

Homeland Intelligence Systems Technology “H-LIST” and battlefield apparatus comprises nano-sensors embedded in a silicon substrate and etched / fused in a micro-fibered material. The silicon substrate is alloyed with miniaturized steel responsive to weapons, preventing bullet penetration and providing effective detection platform on an outfit. The outfit is operable for monitoring suspicious terrorist activities and for tracking biological and chemical gases, and explosives, including weapons of mass destruction and physiological conditions of personnel. Disclosed embodiments provide wearable detection apparatus comprising plurality sensors on an outfit configured to be worn by military personnel, an officer, a security officer, a bus driver, hostesses, Doctors, civil establishment hospital patients and the like, for protection and for sensing deadly gases, explosives, and physiological conditions in a defined area. A receptor is operatively configured and worn proximate to the outfit responsive to detection signals. The receptor is communicatively connected to the sensors and operable for receiving / analyzing detection signal communications wirelessly indicative of the presence of a sensed agent, whereby detected signals are transported wirelessly to a central security monitoring station, providing communications to first responders. The communications could be reachable to backup security personnel or agents, prompting them to respond to the vicinity of the detection. The sensors are multifunctional and coded to recognize wavelike pattern of gases and explosives traveling through the wave. Embodiments provide the outfit and the receptor being operable to process the portion of the detection signal to determine the detection type and / or whether there is a concealed object by conducting a test in which a first characteristic of a first dielectric constant associated with a person is determined, and a second characteristic of a second dielectric constant associated with the concealed object and or weapons of mass destruction is determined to expedite data transmission and communication to first responders.

Personal portable blankets as an infrared shielding device for field activities

A system shields IR emissions from remote sensors and has a flexible outer metallic layer extending to cover objects emitting IR energy on the covered ground. The outer layer is conductive of heat energy and faces upward. A flexible inner metallic layer coextensively extends adjacent to the outer metallic layer. The inner layer is conductive of heat energy and faces downward. Spaced-apart thermo electric chips are between and in contact with the outer and inner layers. Laser beam pattern projector

Methods and systems consistent with some embodiments presented provide methods for denying visual access to a first area from a target area. In some embodiments, methods for denying visual access from a target area may include generating a structured light pattern and projecting the structured light pattern from onto the target area. Reflections and retroreflections from the target area can indicate the presence of sensors. Characterization of one or more sensors in the target area based on the reflections and retroreflections can be performed. Parameters of the structured light pattern, such as color content, amplitude, pattern, and movement of the pattern, can be adjusted based on the type of sensor detected.

Camouflage U.S. Marine Corps combat utility uniform: pattern, fabric, and design

A camouflage system to be used for both military uniforms and equipment. The system includes specialized means of printing the camouflage system unto fabric. The system can also be used for civilian applications, particularly with sportsman hunters. The system provides camouflage in both the human visible light range and the infrared. The system depends on the use of a macro-pattern resulting from a repeat of a micro-pattern. When applied to fabric, a polyamide-cotton fiber blend has a macro pattern resulting from a repeat of a micro pattern printed on at least one surface. The coloring system used comprises at least four colorings from dyes that in combination produce a percent reflectance value comparable to the negative space of the surroundings near the camouflaged subject. The system functions by a macro pattern being disruptive of the shape of the subject and a micro pattern comprising sharp edge units of a size capable of blending the subject into the background. The relative lightness values and percentages of total pattern are sufficient to produce a percent reflectance of acceptable colors, wet or dry in terms of lightness values compared to current military four-color camouflage. On fabric, the results are achieved by printing A macro pattern that disrupts the sensed shape and a micro pattern with a repeat size that produces the macro pattern. The reflectance of the material is comparable to the negative space surrounding a subject so the subject does not appear too dark or too light (out of place). The variation in the lightness between wet and dry is not greater than 17-28%, achieved during the printing process.

Camouflage structure capable of altering its appearance

A camouflage structure, capable of altering its appearance, comprises a camouflage graphic layer and a color-changing layer disposed on the camouflage graphic layer. Originally, the camouflage structure presents a first color state. After the color-changing layer changes the color by driving methods, the camouflage structure presents a second color state. For example, a transparent or semi-transparent color-changing layer able to reflect or emitting red light could be disposed on the woodland camouflage graphic layer, which allows for the overall appearance to change from the greenish woodland camouflage to the brownish desert camouflage. Alternatively, the camouflage structure could comprise a greenish camouflage graphic layer made of material with red-shift characteristics, which means the greenish camouflage graphic layer consists of different colors of chromic materials with reversible red-shift characteristics. The greenish camouflage graphic layer can be red-shifted by driving methods so as to present an appearance of brownish desert camouflage.

Undersea vehicle

An undersea vehicle having both low emitted noise and low reflectivity is provided. The undersea vehicle has a hollow cylindrical hull with all components, sensors, electronics, motors, and other internal components with the exception of the propellers, located within the shell of the cylindrical hull. The hollow center of the hull provides a duct and propeller configuration with the shaping of the inlet tube designed to reduce forward noise transmissions, such as reflected active sonar signals and emitted noise. The internal duct gradually constricts to a throat section and thereafter diverges to an output section where dual counter-rotating propellers are located. The result is that most of the internal turbulent flow and the propeller noise is located behind the throat and is thereby reflected in the aft direction. Steering of the vehicle is accomplished by canting the leading edge intake section and the duct exhaust section.
