Homosalate is an organic compound used in some sunscreens. It is made by the Fischer–Speier esterification of salicylic acid and 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexanol, the latter being a hydrogenated derivative of isophorone. Contained in 45% of U.S. sunscreens, it is used as a chemical UV filter. The salicylic acid portion of the molecule absorbs ultraviolet rays with a wavelength from 295 nm to 315 nm, protecting the skin from sun damage. The hydrophobic trimethyl cyclohexane functional group provides greasiness that prevents it from dissolving in water.

Method for preparing lactic acid by applying double pole film electrodialysis technique

The invention discloses a method for preparing lactic acid with bipolar membrane electrodialysis technology. Lactic acid fermentation liquid passes through an electrodialyzer, which transforms contained lactates into lactic acid. The membrane tank configuration of the adopted electrodialyzer can be of two-cell type including an acid cell and a salt cell divided by an anion membrane or of three-chamber type including an acid cell, a salt cell and a base cell divided by a cation membrane and an anion membrane. For preparation, lactic acid fermentation liquid is transmitted into the salt cell and water is transmitted into the acid cell or the base cell. Under the effect of a circulating pump, the materials flow circularly with a current density of 80-160mA/cm2 at an operation temperature of 25-60 DEG C. The invention can completely supersede the prior calcium lactate acidifying technology without addition of acids for H+ supply and without production of waste acid, salt or base liquid. The transformation efficiency of lactic acid is higher than 98 percent, the recovery of lactic acid is higher than 90 percent and the current efficiency is higher than 70 percent, so the method can reduce environment pollution and lower consumption of chemical raw materials and energy and has remarkable industrial application value and environmental benefit.

Method for continuously producing lactate by utilizing heavy phase lactic acid

The invention discloses a method for continuously producing lactate by utilizing heavy phase lactic acid. The method comprises the steps as follows: (a) dilution is carried out; (b) carbon column decolorization is carried out; (c) in the extraction step, an organic extraction phase comprises extracting agents, a solvent and phase conditioning agents, the extracting agents are amide compounds or a mixture of the amide compounds, the solvent adopts liquid paraffin, the phase conditioning agents adopt alcohol compounds or the mixture of the alcohol compounds, and the mass ratio of the extracting agents, the solvent and the phase conditioning agents is (5.5 to 6.5):(2.5 to 3.5):(0.5 to 1); and the mass ratio of the organic extraction phase and heavy phase lactic acid to be extracted is (1.1 to 1.5):1, and the operating temperature for extraction ranges from 20 to 70 DEG C; (d) back extraction is carried out; (e) fine filtration is performed; and (f) concentration is performed. Lactic acid is selectively transferred to the organic extraction phase to form a loaded organic phase, and lactate aqueous solution is obtained after back extraction so as to prepare lactate, so that impurities and lactic acid in the heavy phase lactic acid can be separated effectively, the process route is simple, and the manufacturing cost is low.
