The invention involves a taxidermy form comprising opposing face pieces having eye openings and nostrils which overlay an inner core having eye sockets, eyeballs, nasal cavities, and a nostril septum to form realistic eye settings and noses. The core is molded as a single unit with eye sockets, a nasal cavity, and a septum and the desired style eyeballs are adhered to the eye sockets and the nasal cavity are detailed and painted to replicate those of a living animal of the type to be mounted. Once the core is prepared, the outer face pieces are attached in an overlying relationship to expose a portion of the eyeballs through the eye openings and the underlying nostril cavities and septum through the nostrils, thereby creating a more realistic taxidermy mount which is easy to prepare. In an alternative embodiment, the two face pieces can be molded as a single unit, which can be easily slipped over the nose of the core and affixed in place in the same manner as the separate pieces.

A habitat mount for a wall mounted taxidermy mannequin includes a habitat piece having a three dimensional first side with the appearance of one or more natural elements and an opposing generally planar second side. A tab extends outwardly from and generally parallel to a plane defined by the second side of the habitat piece. The tab is sized and shaped to mount directly to a rear side of the wall mounted taxidermy mannequin.

A method of manufacturing a taxidermy mannequin includes providing a mold having an open end, a wall having an internal surface and an opposing external surface, and an internal cavity surrounded by the internal surface of the wall. The method further includes applying a layer of a mold release material to a portion of the internal surface, applying a powder material on an exposed surface of the mold release material, applying a layer of a glue mixture on an exposed surface of the powder material and the mold release material layer, applying a granular or fibrous material on an exposed surface of the glue mixture layer, allowing the glue mixture to at least partially dry, filling at least a portion of the internal cavity of the mold with a liquid expandable urethane foam, allowing the expandable urethane foam to expand and harden, and removing the taxidermy mannequin from the mold.

The present invention is a taxidermy mannequin having a mounting portion generally in the shape of an animal body, and a display portion generally in the shape of an animal head, wherein the mounting portion and display portion are secured together through a universal connection, thereby the taxidermist may choose different display portions to secure to the mount portion. The present invention is a taxidermy mannequin which includes an optional ear engagement area formed on a head portion, a lock plate which is secured to the ear engagement area, and an ear liner which is connected to the lock plate.

The invention relates to a method for making an adult cat specimen. The method comprises the following steps: completely peeling off the fur of the corpse of a cat; scattering gypsum powder on the inner side and the outer side of the fur which is peeled off to dry the fur; putting the dried fur into a cleanser essence aqueous solution for soaking, after the fur is washed cleanly, taking sodium carbonate solution, applying the sodium carbonate solution to the inner side and the outer side of the fur, maintaining the state for 3 to 6 hours, and applying boric acid antiseptic powder to the inner side of the fur for antiseptic treatment; putting the peeled corpse of the adult cat in plaster paste to obtain a plaster mold; injecting the plaster paste from the sprue gate, and drying in shade to obtain a plaster prosthesis; trimming the plaster prosthesis, wherein the distance between the outer surface of the plaster prosthesis and the inner wall of the plaster mold is 2 to 2.3 centimeters, and injecting mold silica gel in the plaster mold to obtain a hollow silica gel prosthesis; wrapping the hollow silica gel prosthesis with the treated fur to obtain a cat prosthesis; after trimming the cat prosthesis, fixing the cat prosthesis on a xyloid seat board to prepare the specimen of the adult cat. The method is simple, the cost is low, the specimen which is prepared via taxidermy has no pungent odor, the specimen is easy to preserve, and the structure of the specimen is complete and beautiful.

A simulated eye is provided for taxidermy, replica animals made by carving wood, modeling, and other replica animal or replica human construction. The simulated eye provides a more realistic appearance than previous simulated eyes. The eye includes a domed central portion resembling a cornea that is surrounded by a scleral band.
