A device and method are provided for marking bolt holes in sill boards. The marking device includes a rectangular, substantially planar member having a first end and a second end. One or both ends are configured to receive an anchor bolt. A first punch is positioned a first distance between the ends of the marking device such that the punch is aligned with each end of the marking device.
