Storage container for electronically addressable file folders and documents

A storage container for use in a documents management system with remote location of file folders positioned on support members mounted between walls of the storage container. The support members are electrically connected to an electrical input connector which supplies file folder search signals to the container and receives response signals from address decoder circuits located in each file folder removably received in the container. Each container has an electrical output connector which can be connected to the electrical input connector of another container so that several containers can be connected to one another. Each container can be removably installed in a file cabinet drawer and electrically connected to the file drawer conductive rails to communicate with a file cabinet based file management system.

Hangable calendar assembly

A hangable wall calendar has a stack of sheets that are bound at one edge with a spiral binding or other suitable flip binding. The calendar may have a stitch binding, or be cloth-bound or stapled. An elongated generally tubular hanger member for the calendar has a generally D-shaped profile, with a magnetic strip on the back and a slot running along a bottom wall. The slot is narrower than the diameter of the flip binding but large enough to accomodate the stack of sheets. The calendar can be slipped out of the holder and flipped to a different sheet, and then slid back into place. Alternatively, the hanger member can have a generally P-shaped profile.

Free-standing poster portfolio

A free-standing chart portfolio for display, storing, file acessing and transporting hanging sheets of documents, such as posters and charts (or other large graphics). The portfolio includes one or more storage frame, for receiving sheets having two flat flexible plastic tabs with holes and slits attached to the back top edge. The spacing of the tabs matches the width of the storage frame. The frame can be used in two positions, a storage position and a file access position. In the storage position the sheets are packed tightly. The storage frame is removable from the portfolio to change the position or for transportation to a different location. The portfolio has two hinged covers, which serve as protective covers, or, when opened, as stands of the portfolio.

Article with selectively activated adhesive

An index card assembly which allows selective adherence of an index card to a mounting surface is disclosed. A base paper layer of the index card has a front side and an opposite back side. The paper layer has an upper edge with a portion of the paper layer removed to define a paperless zone which includes a gap across the upper edge. A cover layer having an outer face and an inner face is adhered by pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on its inner face to the front side of the paper layer. The cover layer is aligned to cover the paperless zone with a top of the cover layer extending across the gap of the paperless zone. The adhesive on the inner face of the cover layer is exposed across the paperless zone on the back side of the paper layer. The thickness of the paper layer prevents the adhesive from contacting a surface abutting the back side of the paper layer in the absence of the application of a threshold level of pressure against the outer face of the cover layer.

A tab system for a folder (10a), and a method of making same is disclosed. The tab is enlarged to carry more information / indicia. The visual indicia space (16a), i.e. the viewable space on the front (32a, 36a) of the folder which allows viewing of the enlarged tab is achieve without violating the overall size restrictions (40a) of the file folder. Instead, the front of the folder adjacent to the tab on the back panel, is cut away (32a,34a) to expose a greater portion of the back panel (14a) and allow an increase in visual indicia space. The remaining portion of the front panel, not adjacent to the tab may also be cut away (34a) to allow other enlarged tab files, with offset tabs, (22d, 21a) to be viewable behind the present file.

File organizer with multiple dividers

A file organizer that includes an open storage cavity for storing a series of hanging file folders. The storage body includes a file support edge upon which hanging file folders are supported. A peripheral flange is joined to the outer wall of the storage body and extends around the periphery of the storage body to define a receiving cavity. The file organizer includes a series of file dividers that each include a pair of ears extending from a main body of the file divider and a pair of feet located near the bottom edge of the main body. The storage body includes a first series of alignment tabs and a second series of alignment tabs that restrict the lateral movement of the file dividers within the open storage cavity such that the file dividers define compartments within the open storage cavity.

Storage Box

A stackable and collapsible storage box (100) comprising a foldable wrapper (10) having side wall and end wall panels which are releasably retained within a peripheral channel (30a) on a separate base portion (30). The wall panels have lower extension portions (11, 12) that are folded upwardly to provide a double thickness and these lower extension portions have an upper edge (12a) or apertures (37) that engage with short protrusions (33) formed on an inner wall (32) of the channel to retain the panels. The end wall panels have upper first and second extensions portions (14a, 16) that are respectively folded inwardly and upwardly to provide a support edge (16a) to support hangers for hang files. The support edge can be strengthened with a channel section (19). The box can have a lid (50) has a ridge (53) to compliment channel (36) on the base portion to allow stacking.

Suspended file folder

A suspended file folder assembly is made from thermoplastic material and uses a thermoplastic sheet folded along at least one score line to define a folder, which has a retaining portion at upper edges thereof. A support bar, having a cavity in a bottom portion thereof and being substantially symmetrical with respect to its longitudinal axis, mechanically engages with the retaining portion. This weight-bearing interlock distributes the load of the folder along the length of the cavity of the support bar and the upper edge of the sheet. The support bars have notches therein for engagement with conventional suspension rails as well as at least one indentation for accommodating an index tab. A rotatable index tab, or clip tab, is also provided with a lower part, including outwardly extending leg-like extensions, that is complimentary in shape to the support bar and attachable to the support bar.
