A suspension bar for a hanging file having coplanar longitudinal top and bottom portions and a longitudinal middle portion having an offset parallel to the coplanar longitudinal top and bottom portions. A traverse perimeter flare is around each notch. A plurality of small depressed sections in the longitudinal middle portion are expanded to prevent nesting of stacked suspension bars. The notches of the suspension bars are coated to reduce friction. Sheet metal stock need be only half the thickness of conventional flat suspension bar stock with the same load-supporting capacity when incorporated in a hanging file folder thereby lowering manufacturing cost of suspension bars and hanging file folders. This invention also includes a process for making the suspension bars and for installing the suspension bars in jackets at a high production rate, including automated production lines.

A file divider is provided for dividing a series of file folders having hanging rods with opposed ends slidably supported for movement on a file support edge of a file organizer. The file divider includes a body having opposed ends slidably supported for movement on the file support edge between a pair of file folders. A binder for a suspension file has a body, a cover mounted on the body and a control element mounted inside the body. The control element has two rods and a pinion gear. Each rod has a rack gear formed on the inner end and a hook formed on the outer end, and the pinion gear is mounted between the rods and engages the rack gears. One of the rods has a controller securely attached to the rod and extending out of the body. When the controller is pushed or pulled, the hooks will extend or retract simultaneously.

An improved label sheet assembly and application kit including an optional liner sheet, a carrier strip, and a removably attached label facestock sheet. The application kit further includes a stacked group of tabbed sheets and an alignment guide. The label facestock sheet assembly includes a plurality of cut lines defining a perimeter of a plurality of facestock labels spaced from one another in an offset manner that substantially corresponds to a set of staggered tabs extending outwardly from a stacked group of divider sheets. The carrier strip is defined by a plurality of cuts having substantially the same shape as a portion of the perimeters of the facestock labels, but with slightly smaller dimensions as its respective label. The user may separate the carrier strip from the liner sheet, exposing an adhesive back of the precut labels and place and align the carrier strip across the divider sheets such that the precut labels are placed on the tabs of the divider sheets. The user then pulls the carrier strip upwardly and away from the divider sheets such that a portion of each of the perimeters of the precut labels flexes to separate from the carrier strip and remain on the staggered tabs.

A file cabinet providing access to files from substantially all sides, and having one or more rotatable tiers, each tier containing a plurality of file containers. Each tier includes a central carrousel having a plurality of radially extending arms. Mounted to the outer terminus of each arm is a file support assembly, each configured to rotate about a vertical axis between a retracted position and an extended position. Methods for producing easily and securely gripped slip-resistant file folders, including file pockets and hanging folders. The methods include providing folder paper stock; conveying the folder paper stock in the process of folder manufacture; providing a curable slip-resistant material in a melt state; applying the slip-resistant material at predetermined areas of the folder paper stock; and curing the slip-resistant material; such that the slip-resistant portion comprises cured slip-resistant material. Another method includes providing folder paper stock; providing embossing dies in spaced, operable, mating relationship; positioning the folder paper stock appropriately in the embossing dies; applying force to at least one of the embossing dies so as to decrease the spaced relationship; and deforming the folder paper stock.

An apparatus for organizing and retaining memorabilia includes a container having a front wall, a back wall, a pair of side walls and a floor. Insertable within the container is a plurality of folders, each folder having a front wall and a back wall. Each folder may be expandable. Each folder includes an inner pocket defined within it and the inner pocket of each folder may contain one or more slip pockets for holding items therewithin. Each folder may be constructed of a transparent material such that the contents of the folder are visible to the user. Each slip pocket may also be constructed of a transparent material. The container may be constructed of a number of materials and may include a container cover. The container cover may be hinged. The container may include a number of handles attached to or defined within it for assisting with transportation of the container and its contents.
