The method comprises the steps of performing low alcohol extraction and concentration and kieselguhr filtration on panax notoginseng, ginseng or American ginseng as raw materials, performing selective adsorption on the panaxatriol saponin by using macroporous resin with an aperture of 50-70 micrometers, resolving with an alcohol solution to form a crude product of the panaxatriol saponin, performing methanol, alcohol, methanol water alcohol water dissolution on the crude product of the panaxatriol saponin, adding acetonitrile or ethyl acetate for precipitation, discarding a precipitate, diluting a supernate with water to form a crude product solution of the panaxatriol saponin, performing chromatographic resin column and alcohol solution resolution and separation on the crude product solution of the panaxatriol saponin to form a panaxatriol saponin solution, removing flavonoid pigment impurities by polyamide or anion exchange resin, decoloring and drying the panaxatriol saponin solution with active carbon at last to form the high-purity panaxatriol saponin.
