Electrical connector for flexible printed circuit board

An electrical connector (1) includes an insulative housing (2) and a plurality of terminals (3) received in the housing. The housing has a front end with an opening for receiving an end of the FPC in engagement with contacting portions of the terminals, and a back end with a plurality of T-shaped protrusions (202), and a side end with two latching arms (21). An actuator (4) is pivotably mounted relative to the housing for floating movement between a first position allowing free insertion of the FPC into the opening and a second position biasing the FPC against the terminals. A shielding (5) is engaged with the back end and two latching arms of the housing for protecting the connector from Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) during transferring signals between the FPC and the PCB by the connector. The shielding can also reinforce the strength of the housing.

Electrical connector

A Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) connector (1) includes a housing (2), a number of contacts (3,31) received in the housing, an actuator rotatably mounted on the housing, and a shielding (5) attached to the housing. The shielding substantially surrounds a top surface (201) of the housing. A number of securing slots (500) are defined in the shielding and engage with protrusions (202) of the housing for positioning the shielding on the housing. Grounding tabs (501) extend from the shielding for mating with corresponding grounding pads of a PCB. The shielding and the grounding tabs extending therefrom can provide EMI protection to the connector. The shielding can also reinforce the strength of the housing.

Connector having improved housing to position contacts thereof reliably

An electrical connector comprises an insulative housing having a base portion, and a tongue portion extending forwardly from the base portion, the base portion defining a cavity recessed from an upper surface thereof and communicating with a mating port, a bottom wall below the cavity and having a plurality of receiving slots, and a plurality of retaining slots which each is communicated with each two adjacent receiving slots. A plurality of first contacts each has a contact portion, a retaining portion extending rearwardly from the contact portion, and a pair of projections protruding outwardly from two lateral sides of the retaining portion along a transverse direction perpendicular to the front-to-back direction. The retaining portions are received in the corresponding receiving slots downwardly. The projections are positioned in the corresponding retaining slots to prevent the first contacts from moving along the front-to-back direction.

Hydrostatic transaxles

An axle assembly has an internally disposed hydrostatic transmission and speed reducing gearing. An input shaft supported in the housing drives a variable-displacement hydraulic pump, the pump fluidly coupled to a fixed-displacement hydraulic motor, and the motor drivingly connected through the speed reducing gearing to an output axle shaft. The housing being formed by three housing members and joined together along a substantially planar and horizontally peripheral seam formed therebetween such that two of the housing members are to one side of the seam and join with the third housing element. Two internal chambers formed by the three housing elements where one chamber contains the hydrostatic transmission and the other chamber contains the speed reducing gearing. A connecting shaft spanning between the chambers to provide the power transmission link between the hydrostatic transmission and the speed reducing gearing.

Fuel Cell Housing for Use in an Alcohol Breath Tester

An alcohol fuel cell sensor and the resultant alcohol breath tester assembly. The disclosed housing creates an alcohol breath tester assembly that protects the electrode sensor from liquid ingress, maximizes the sample contact with the platinum electrode surface, and provides a smooth path facilitating laminar flow of the sample through the sensor. This, in turn, provides good flushing of the volume without creating eddies or other turbulence. Additionally, the housing can utilize a vapor barrier layer in the assembly and restricts the layer from touching the electrode surface.

Toolless hot swappable storage module

A toolless hot-swappable storage module system includes a base plate for mounting within a computer enclosure and a toolless hot-swappable storage module. The storage module includes a sled that is removably coupled to the base plate. The storage module further includes a printed circuit board (PCB) that is disposed on the sled. The PCB includes a plurality of storage media connectors, a PCB signal and power connectors. The storage module also includes a support frame disposed on the PCB. The support frame includes a plurality of support members that are disposed perpendicular to the PCB. Each support member has a first edge and a second edge and includes a plurality of dividers disposed in parallel rows. The support frame also includes a sidewall that is disposed across the first edge of the support members.

A connector (20) has a housing (18) for accommodating female terminal fittings (22). A resiliently deformable lock arm (46) is formed separately from the housing (18) and is adapted to lock the connector (20) to a mating connector (10). Coil springs (40) bias the lock arm (46) forwardly to a usual position. Insufficient connection preventing portions (34) project from the housing (18) toward the lock arm (46) and the lock arm (46) is provided with stroke guides (51). The stroke guides (51) move onto the insufficient connection preventing portions (34) during connection of the connectors (10, 20). The housing (18) also has an arched press-preventing portion (32) for preventing the lock arm (46) from being pressed from above when the lock arm (46) is at the usual position.
