The invention belongs to the technical field of radiopharmaceuticals and
medical instruments, and discloses a preparation method and application of a
palladium-103
brachytherapy source core. And the source core is composed of
graphite particles which are subjected to
surface modification treatment and are adsorbed with
radionuclide palladium 103. The preparation method comprises the following steps: preparing
graphite particles; acidizing and / or activating the
graphite particles to introduce
oxygen-containing functional groups on the surfaces of the particles and / or form porous structures to obtain
surface modified graphite particles; and then mixing the particles with an alkaline solution containing
palladium 103, and completing marking through oscillation adsorption. According to the method, the graphite particles are modified, a complex
electroplating process is replaced, efficient and uniform adsorption of the palladium 103 is achieved, and the requirement for the purity of the graphite
raw material is low. The method is simple in process, low in cost and easy for large-scale production, and the prepared source core is small in self-
shielding effect and suitable for preparing
brachytherapy devices such as a sealed seed source and an after-loading source.
