The invention discloses a double-basket fire escape device for high-rise buildings, which comprises an elevator mechanism component, a support component, a hook, a left basket and a right basket and is characterized in that the middle of a frame in the elevator mechanism is provided with a screw rod and a rotary drum; nuts are embedded in the flange centers at the two ends of the rotary drum; a layer of steel wire rope is coiled on the rotary drum; the left beam of the frame is welded with a fixed pulley seat; the fixed pulley seat is provided with a pulley and a steel wire rope locking mechanism which is composed of an adjusting screw rod, a pressing plate, a sliding block, a guiding wheel and a sleeve; the right beam of the frame is sleeved with a moveable pulley seat; the left basket and the right basket are respectively hung at the two ends of the steel wire rope; and friction blocks are installed corresponding to the flanges at the two ends of the rotary drum.
