A job description or JD is a written narrative that describes the general tasks, or other related duties, and responsibilities of a position. It may specify the functionary to whom the position reports, specifications such as the qualifications or skills needed by the person in the job, information about the equipment, tools and work aids used, working conditions, physical demands, and a salary range. Job descriptions are usually narrative, but some may comprise a simple list of competencies; for instance, strategic human resource planning methodologies may be used to develop a competency architecture for an organization, from which job descriptions are built as a shortlist of competencies.

Application-specific method and apparatus for assessing similarity between two data objects

The similarity between two data objects of the same type (e.g., two resumes, two job descriptions, etc.) is determined using predictive modeling. A basic assumption is that training datasets are available containing compatibility measures between objects of the first type and data objects of a second type, but that training datasets measuring similarity between objects of the first type are not. A first predictive model is trained to assess compatibility between data objects of a first type and data objects of a second type. Then, in one scenario, pairs of objects of the first type are compared for similarity by running them through the first predictive model as if one object of the pair is an object of the first type and the other object of the pair is an object of the second type. Alternatively, for each object in a set of objects of the first type, the first predictive model is used to create a respective vector of compatibility scores against a fixed set of objects of the second type; these various vectors are then used to derive measures of similarity between pairs of objects of the first type, from which a second predictive model is trained, and the second predictive model is then used to assess the similarity of pairs of objects of the first type.

Mobile fitness and personal caloric management system

A user's personal biometric information such as age, sex, weight, height as well as the user's lifestyle information, such as daily caloric input, job description, smoker status and physical fitness, is uploaded onto a host computer. Target heart rate, energy and/or caloric consumption levels related to desired fitness and weight loss goals for a particular individual are then selected having regard to fitness levels for an individual of comparable age, and consuming similar calories are then downloaded to a caloric monitoring unit. The caloric monitoring unit is provided for measuring the user's heart rate and dynamic energy and/or caloric expenditure over one to four weeks. The caloric monitoring unit includes a heart rate monitor, a unit accelerometer, a global positioning system (GPS), and an audio and/or video output. The audio/video output is operable to provide information and/or motivational prompts to the user in the event the heart rate, energy expenditure and/or caloric expenditure falls below or exceeds pre-selected target expenditures over a particular time segment of the selected time period having regard to the calories which are consumed. A display provides a continuously updated visual indication of whether or not the use has achieved the pre-selected optimum caloric burn or energy expenditure for that particular time segment. An internal calendar/clock, a processor and/or memory in the caloric monitoring unit compares measured heart rate and energy expenditures for multiple time segments against target levels stored as the user-specific fitness programme tailored to achieve the desired weight loss. The comparison is then used to generate compliance output data to either the user and/or a nutritionist.

Methods for information extraction, search, and structured representation of text data

System and methods for creating structured or semi-structured representations of information extracted from unstructured text data sources are described. In some embodiments, without requiring a predefined target data structure, the methods identify the grammatical and semantic attributes and context information in a text content, and create object-properties association data as knowledge and information extracted from the unstructured data, and represent such information in a structured or semi-structured format to facilitate search and trend analysis. In some other embodiments, the methods identify the types of information contained in the unstructured data, and for a pre-defined target information type, the methods identify the context and content of the portion of the text that represents the target information type, and extract the text, attach a tag or label to the extracted text, and store or display the data in a database table format or xml format for further pattern and trend analysis. Applications of the present system and methods include effectively analyzing user-generated contents such as customer feedback, reviews, comments, technical support forum messages, resume or job description documents, and other types of text contents.

Assisting an organization in managing the engagement of non-employee workers supplied by a vendor. The organization maintains a computer system that is linked to a vendor's computer system. Electronic communication allows for sharing of information between the organization's computer system and the vendor's computer system. A database management system is provided for accessing a database to create, modify, store and access non-employee worker profiles, requests for non-employee workers, work assignments, time reports, and possibly electronic versions of employment agreements. Electronic settlement means may transfer payments to the vendor in exchange for services rendered by the non-employee worker. An engaging manager may send an e-mail request to the vendor for a non-employee worker. The vendor may provide the engaging manager with an e-mail response listing all eligible non-employees workers. The engaging manager may then request a non-employee worker from the list and, via e-mail, seek approval from a supervisor for engaging the non-employee worker. An engaging manager may also search the non-employee worker profiles in the database in order to find a non-employee worker without sending an e-mail request to the vendor. Work assignments for non-employee workers are entered into the database. Work assignments may include a job description, an hourly billing rate, and identification information. A non-employee worker stores in the database a time report recording time worked against the work assignment. Time reports may be accessed by a time approver. Approved time is submitted to an accounts payable department, which handles payment of the vendor.

The deep learning library types and the job types are carried in the job requests. According to the scheme, the method, the system and the related equipment have the advantage that the deep learning job scheduling compatibility rate can be increased by the aid of the method, the system and the related equipment.
