A new cultivar of Nepeta named ‘NEPBP122’ that is characterized by its large flowers, its floriferous blooming habit, its compact plant habit, and its flowers that are purple in color.

The application discloses a mutant of iridoid synthetase with improved specificity and enzyme activity and application thereof. The mutant of iridoid synthetase is obtained by mutation of wild-type iridoid synthetase NmISY2 derived from Nepeta mussinii. The mutant has higher catalytic activity to 8-oxogeranial, and the enzyme activity to geranial is obviously decreased. The ratio of the enzyme activity of the mutant to 8-oxogeranial and geranial is up to 293 times, which is greatly improved compared with the parent iridoid synthetase. The mutant can be used for heterologous synthesis and in-vitro synthesis of iridoid compounds and derivatives, and has a good application prospect.

The new and distinct hardy perennial plant, Nepeta ‘Catwalk Queen’, has rounded, very short and compact habit with mostly upright stems. The foliage is small, serrate and fragrant. Large flowers are a periwinkle blue with persistent rosy calyces. The new plant reblooms heavily if trimmed after initial flowering.
