A patient transfer device has four casters and two counter-rotating steering wheels. The steering wheels provide a turning path whose center of curvature lies along a transverse centerline of the device. A foot pedal selectively lifts the steering wheels off the floor or brakes them. Another foot pedal at a back end of the device can lock the casters at the front end in a straight direction. The transfer table of the device may be inclined either longitudinally or transversely, and has an upper table whose edge rollers retract to introduce slack in the upper belt so that an air mattress can be inflated. The upper belt selectively disengages from the lower belt using movable, pneumatically-actuated pinch rollers. The outer surface of the upper belt is rough while the outer surface of the lower belt is smooth. The belts are constructed of a material which includes an antimicrobial agent.

The controller inhibits movement of said lateral rotation of a lifting arm in response to the linear displacement and the angular diversion of the support legs to prevent tipping the lifting device. The same controller may be operated in a bypass mode to override the normal mode wherein the patient lifting device may be operated during a setup and breakdown operation to permit construction and disassembly of the patient lifting device.

The stretcher supporter includes an open frame, wherein said open frame provides for secure attachment of a stretcher to said open frame and an adjustable lifting point connected to said open frame, wherein said adjustable lifting point suspends said open frame and rotatably shifts to substantially balance said stretcher respective to said open frame. The method of balancing a stretcher supporter for a patient lifting device, includes the steps of securely attaching a stretcher to an open frame of said stretcher supporter and adjusting a lifting point connected to said open frame, wherein said adjusting a lifting point suspends said open frame and linearly and rotatably shifts to substantially balance said stretcher respective to said open frame.

A patient lift device comprises a mobile frame and a pliable sheet or support for supporting or manipulating a patient. A pair of spaced apart elongated rollers is operatively connected to opposite sides of the sheet. By rotating the rollers, the sheet with the patient lying thereon can be raised or lowered, or by selectively rotating one or both rollers, the patient can be turned or manipulated.

Both ends of a cross beam connected by an upright post are respectively connected with a longitudinal beam (10); a pair of vertical beams (8) are connected in the longitudinal beam (10); a motor (8a) and worms (8c) connected with the motor are arranged in the vertical beam and connected with a worm wheel (8b) in a matched mode; the worm wheel is coaxially connected with gears (8d) and matched with a sector gear (17) for transmission so as to drive a connection tubular axle (21) to rotate; and a main reverse turning bed (18) is fixed and connected with the tubular axle (21). Via the vertical movement of the upright post and the movement of the reverse turning bed, a downward bottom shoveling and collecting movement is produced, so that the patient is transferred to a pair of reverse turning beds, and then the upright post rises, and the patient is transferred. Each motor can be accurately controlled via a microcomputer or PLC and automatically and efficiently complete different kinds of movements. The transferring car is suitable for all sick beds and for transferring patients among the large scale equipment with same width such as a CT machine and an operating table, and has the advantages of high degree of automation, high security, high transfer efficiency, convenient use and the like.

A telescopic rail and carriage assembly for suspending a patient lift. The carriage has a downward projection to which the patient lift is to be connected. The telescopic rail has an inner rail section and an outer rail section. The outer rail section is provided with first longitudinally extending interior support surfaces for supporting a lower set of wheels of the carriage. The inner rail section is provided with second longitudinally extending interior support surfaces for guiding and supporting an upper set of wheels of the carriage. A patient lifting apparatus is provided that attaches to a bed frame having a plurality of legs and a headboard. The apparatus includes an upright member, a boom mechanically associated with the upright member, an upper support bar that extends across the bed frame and secures the upright member to each side of the headboard, and a lower support bar that extends across the bed frame and secures the upright member to the legs. In a lift and transfer device and method, a patient support assembly supported on a lift on a wheeled platform includes a main support arm pivoted to the lift. First and second transversely extending support arms respectively carrying a back support section and a leg support are cantilevered from the main support arm. The main support arm is positioned for lifting the patient from a bed. The main support arm is rotated from a first to a second angular position for lowering a patient to a wheelchair. First and second pivot arms each have an upper end pivotally supported to the back support section and a lower end having a torso grip pad positioned adjacent one side of the patient. A portable patient lift comprises a base and a mast that is foldable relative to the base to expose a lower end of the mast. The lower end of the mast protrudes rearward to define one point of a three-point stance when the mast is folded and the lift is set on end.

In one embodiment, a first operation signal may be received from a first relay coupled to an electro-mechanical patient lift when the electro-mechanical patient lift is being operated in a first position. A determination of whether a lift qualification threshold is met may be based on the receiving of the first operation signal and the second operation signal. A contact carrier is loosely fit within the trolley, and it bears a contact which elastically biased against the track conductor, with die contact being in electrical communication with the hoist: The contact carrier is tree to laterally displace with respect to the trolley so that it (and its contact) follows the contour of the track, with the contact remaining in electrical communication with the track conductor.
