An apparatus generates an image signal in which pixels are encoded in N-bit words which encode at least a luma per pixel. A receiver (201) obtains high dynamic range pixel values in accordance with a first color representation in M-bitwords. A first generator (203) includes the high dynamic range pixel values in the image signal in the N-bit words according to a second color representation. A second generator (205) includes in the image signal an indicator that high dynamic range pixel values are encoded. In some examples, the high dynamic range pixel values may be provided in a segment that can alternatively contain high or low dynamic range pixel values, and the indicator may indicate which type of data is included. The approach may e.g. facilitate introduction of high dynamic range capability into e.g. HDMI systems.

A display processor applies the mapped values of the color characteristic legend to the values of the movement parameter representing the moving structure, to display a color representation on the monitor in response to the mapping function.

In some aspects, the disclosure is directed methods and systems for constructing a three dimensional (3D) color representation of an object. A first sensor may acquire a first depth image and a first color image of an object from a first angle relative to the object. A second sensor may acquire a second depth image and a second color image of the object from a second angle relative to the object. A processor may map color information from pixels of the first color image to pixels of the first depth image to form a first 3D distribution of colored points representing a first surface portion of the object. The processor may map color information from pixels of the second color image to pixels of the second depth image to form a second 3D distribution of colored points representing a second surface portion of the object. The processor may match, based on 3D structure, a portion of the first 3D distribution of colored points, to a portion of the second 3D distribution of colored points.

The invention relates generally to a color 3D printer based on ultraviolet (UV) energy-curable high quality color coating on transparent or translucent base material. More particularly, the invention deals with the use of a Light Emitting Diode (LED) UV-curable ink-jet printing technique with high spatial and color selectivity for coating the base material deposited using additive manufacturing technology in a repeated process for building color 3D object.
