The gingival generating method comprises steps that (1) a positive direction of a teeth model is set, and the model is arranged in a forward direction; (2) the teeth model is scanned to acquire the three-dimensional model of the teeth model, and the gingival part and the teeth part of the three-dimensional model, which are required to be kept, are segmented, and segmented edges are sequentially stored; (3) the points of all of the segmented edges are respectively extended along a Z axis negative direction or along the projection directions of the Z axis negative direction of the points of the edges to acquire the intersected points with a specific bottom surface, and therefore the contour line of the bottom surface of the gingival is acquired; (4) uniform sampling is carried out on the contour line of the bottom surface of the gingival, and therefore the width of the bottom surface of the gingival and distances between the bottom surface of the gingival and the segmented edges are acquired, and a number of layers is calculated; (5) the number of the sampling points of the bottom surface is calculated, and the contour points of every layer are sequentially generated according to the calculation result of the step (4); (6) the contour points of every layer are used to reconstruct triangular surfaces, and the gingival is acquired. By adopting the gingival generating method provided by the invention, the original form of the gingival of the key part is maintained, and the number of the triangular surfaces is reduced as much as possible, and then the size of the model is reduced.
