A method of sterilizing an article by sequentially exposing the article to hydrogen peroxide and ozone is disclosed. The article is exposed under vacuum first to an evaporated aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide and subsequently to an ozone containing gas. The exposure is carried out without reducing the water vapor content of the sterilization atmosphere, the water vapor content being derived from the aqueous solvent of the hydrogen peroxide solution and from the decomposition of the hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. The complete sterilization process is carried out while the chamber remains sealed and without removal of any component of the sterilization atmosphere. For this purpose, the chamber is initially evacuated to a first vacuum pressure sufficient to cause evaporation of the aqueous hydrogen peroxide at the temperature of the chamber atmosphere. The chamber is then sealed for the remainder of the sterilization process and during all sterilant injection cycles. Keeping the chamber sealed and maintaining the hydrogen peroxide and its decomposition products in the chamber for the subsequent ozone sterilization step results in a synergistic increase in the sterilization efficiency and allows for the use of much lower sterilant amounts and sterilization cycle times than would be expected from using hydrogen peroxide and ozone in combination.

An apparatus for holding a beverage includes a base, a frame, and a plurality of biasing members. The base includes at least one inner region and at least one outer region for collecting moisture. The frame is configured to be supported by the base and to receive drinking vessels of varying sizes and configurations. The plurality of biasing members are detachably coupled to the frame and form with the frame an inner cavity of varying capacity for supporting a drinking vessel. The capacity of the inner cavity is adaptively configured when a portion of the drinking vessel is received in the inner cavity.

To overcome shortcomings of the prior art, the subject invention is provided which includes various dropper bottle designs and dropper bottle assemblies including accessories for dropper bottles. With certain aspects of the subject invention, improvements in the administration of eye drops is provided by adding accessories or modifications to conventional dropper bottles, so that doses and/or single drops may be administered in a repeatable and reliable manner. More specifically, certain embodiments use devices (10, 300) to restrict the amount the dropper bottle (12) is deformed in administering a dose; other embodiments rely on mechanical reduction of interior volume (without deformation of the dropper bottle (12)) to administer a dose, such as with a displaceable piston (500, 602); and, yet, a further embodiment provides a valving arrangement (402, 404) to limit a dose. Features (200) are also included which aid in the alignment of the dropper bottle's nozzle to the eye, and a feature (102) is provided for protecting the user's eye from potential damage which can occur if a pointed nozzle (104) is brought into contact with the eye during alignment. As will be appreciated by those skilled in the art, the various aspects and embodiments disclosed herein may be used singularly or in various combinations.

An illuminate-able beverage-ware device includes a bottle-supporting component with a base and a bottle-gripping sidewall that cooperatively define an upwardly opening space for receiving a bottle or other beverage container. An actuator arrangement actuates a battery-powered light source that transmits lights upwardly toward the false bottom, outwardly through the sidewall, and downwardly toward the base, while inwardly extending protrusions on a circularly shaped sidewall of one embodiment hold the device on the bottle when the bottle is lifted (e.g., to a drinking position). The false bottom, sidewall, and base are all at least partially transparent to light so that light is transmitted upwardly through the false bottom toward the bottle (e.g., to illuminate a beverage within the bottle), outwardly through the sidewall, and downwardly through the base (e.g., to illuminate information on the underside of the base for a highly visible additional display of information to a bystander when the bottle is raised to a drinking position).

A container includes a body, a bag, and a bottom cap. The body includes a top opening, and a bottom end, opposite the top opening. The bag is positioned inside the body and includes an opening at the bottom end of the body. The bottom cap includes a hole. The bottom cap is removably connected over the opening of the bag. The hole in the bottom cap allows air in the bag to escape.

A baby bottle container includes a cap portion which allows fluid to flow therethrough and a bottle engaged with the cap, wherein the bottle includes a bottle body and a weighted end piece which biases the bottle body to an upright position in response to engaging a support structure. The weighted end piece includes a smooth curved hemispherical surface. The weighted end piece biases the bottle body to an upright position relative to the support structure.

A bottle support shoe receives a closed end of a medicine bottle to stabilize and inhibit slippage of a medicine bottle, and to hold the bottle upright. The shoe comprises a plate having a superior face defined by a convex shape that creates suction, and a mount face defined by a concave shape that creates suction. An interior sidewall extends from the plate at an angle between 44 degrees to 110 degrees, such that engaging the superior face with the closed end of bottle creates air space between the interior sidewall and the superior face. Engaging the mount face with a ground surface decreases and maintains air space between the interior sidewall and the mount face. An exterior sidewall circumambulates the interior sidewall. A bridge extends from interior sidewall to exterior sidewall. A grip panel overlays the mount face to further prevent slippage of the shoe.

A container having a curved bottom and base cup which allows the container to stand upright. The container and base cup are fitted together by a mechanical engagement having portions on the container and base cup. The mechanical engagement of the container is disposed within the bottom cone of the container. The mechanical engagement of the base cup is cantilevered from the bottom of the base cup. Such disposition reduces stress at the interface between the side wall of the container and edge of the base, providing for a smoother transition and better appearance. Also, this disposition provides resistance to separation of the container and base cup during drop impact. The bottom of the container may be curved and have a well therein for receiving the contents of the container and a dip tube.

The stand is configured to support the liquid container in first and second positions, with the container being closed in the first position and open in the second position.
