System to alleviate snoring

The anti-snoring device is a combination of a chin pillow placed under the chin of a wearer and is designed to induce the wearer's mouth to stay closed while sleeping. Included in the combination is a dental appliance that has an upper box to receive the wearer's upper teeth therein. Below the box is an indent to receive the wearer's lower teeth therein to enhance the wearer's proper bite or occlusion when the mouth of the wearer is closed. Included in the appliance are two upper segments that extend under the roof or palate of the mouth of the wearer. From below the box are extending two inclines which follow a line adjacent the position of the lower teeth without touching them. The ultimate aim is to induce a person wearing the chin pillow or the dental appliance or both to keep his or her mouth closed when sleeping to thereby alleviate the incident of snoring.

Pillow

A pillow is of a dual-layer structure composed of a relatively soft upper main body and a relatively hard main body. The main body is centrally provided with a central unit that is flanked by two lateral units. The central unit has a raised portion for propping up a user's cervical vertebra so as to make the user's head lean backward, thereby keeping his trachea opening and preventing snoring. Each of the lateral units has a lateral depressed portion. When a user sleeps on his side with his head placed on the pillow, the depressed portion prevents his ear from being pressed and serves to lead his head lean backward. Each of the lateral units has its front edge recessed and provided with an inward inclined portion, for receiving the user's shoulder and preventing discomfort caused by pressure. The pillow thus provides comprehensive support to the user's head.

Breathing normalizer apparatus

A breathing normalizer for partial insertion within the user's mouth for normalizing breathing patters, prevention of snoring, teeth grinding, and light forms of sleep apnea is disclosed. The device includes an outer plate which is positioned external to the user's mouth when in use, an elongated hollow shaft for connecting the structure to a lip plate adapted to be received between the user's lips and teeth, and a generally C-shaped multi-lobed structure adapted for receiving the user's tongue. The device is positioned within the oral cavity of the user in an operative configuration such that the tongue is retained within the multi-lobed structure, the teeth clamp down upon the connector with the lip plate positioned between the teeth and the inner portions of the upper and lower lips. The outer plate further defines a centrally disposed chamber having an inlet tube in fluid communication with the hollow tubular connector for providing an inlet for breathing air. The inlet tube is adapted for connection to a source of gas, such as oxygen, to assist in delivering the gas to the user through the lungs. In addition, the chamber includes a threaded peripheral edge adapted for threaded engagement with a container of medicine thereby facilitating the delivery of oral medications into the user's oral cavity and preferably the delivery of oral medications below the tongue. A medicine receiving chamber is further provided to allow for medicine received therein to be dispensed and / or evaporated in the user's mouth. As a result of proper application of the apparatus breathing at night is normalized, while snoring, grinding of the teeth, and apena are prevented, and further while medications may be simultaneously delivered orally.

Appliance, system and method for preventing snoring

An appliance, a system and a method prevent snoring of a patient. The appliance opens an airway of the patient by advancing a lower jaw of the patient. A slot is formed on an upper shell and / or a lower shell of the appliance to receive teeth of the patient for wearing the appliance. A hinge connects the upper shell to the lower shell and resists the closing of the mouth of the patient to maintain the open airway of the patient. Wedges protrude from the hinge between the upper shell and the lower shell to further resist the closing of the mouth of the patient. Stiffer material of the hinge and / or the wedges relative to material of the upper shell and the lower shell requires more force to close the mouth of the patient and maintains the open airway of the patient during sleep. Extended margins may receive liner material to secure the appliance to the dentition. Lingual extensions on the lower arch help to maintain the lower jaw in a forward position relative to the upper jaw.

Anti-Snoring Device

An inter-lip device for regulating mouth airflow to prevent snoring while sleeping. A canoe shaped horizontal pocket is formed by hinge-ably attaching two resilient panels together by three common edges, sized to fit between the lips without protruding into the mouth. An adhesive covering is applied to both outer faces of the pocket and a slit is cut in the middle of the front edge hinge. The pocket opens to the rear into the mouth. The lips are sealed to the adhesive about the pocket opening, holding the mouth closed while directing mouth breathing through the device and out the front slit opening. With the jaw consciously flexed, resting mouth airflow is comfortably allowed, however, a relaxed sleeper's jaw or a forced inhalation will collapse the slit opening, reducing or stopping airflow, causing the user to breath through their nose, thereby preventing the necessary mouth airflow needed to support snoring.
