A method for providing a search result list. The method includes receiving a search request from a searcher. In a database of search listings in which each search listing is associated with an advertiser and includes at least one search term and a bid amount by the advertiser, search listings generating a match with the search request are identified. A predetermined number of identified search listings are selected according to bid amount for display to the searcher. The identified search listings are arranged for display in a random order as the search result list. The search result list is then communicated to the searcher.

A predictive method and apparatus are disclosed for selecting an antenna to use in a multi-antenna wireless device. A predictive antenna selector predicts the best antenna (for both receiving and transmitting signals) based on the signal quality of the antenna for prior received frames. In one embodiment, a device associated with a file descriptor in a set of file descriptors is opened. The set of file descriptors are identified in checkpoint data for restarting the pseudo terminal streams. In response to identifying the device as a pseudo terminal slave device, an entry for the identified pseudo terminal slave device is added to a list of open pseudo terminal slave devices. The entry for the identified pseudo terminal slave device is marked as an open pseudo terminal slave device. The list of open pseudo terminal slave devices permit pseudo terminal master devices and pseudo terminal slave devices to be restored and restarted in random order during a restart of the pseudo terminal streams.

A method to transmit data using a device having a plurality of physical input/output (I/O) interfaces is provided. This invention relates to a voting system. In particular, this invention relates to a ballot paper which includes an option section and response section, whereby the response section is adapted to be separable from the option section. Disclosed herewith is a multi-plane cell switch fabric system in which each switching unit functions asynchronously with others. The system executes distribution/restoration operations without lowering the switching capacity to reorder cells that arrive in random order from a plurality of switches just as they were in original flows and packets respectively with a small hardware capacity.
