A language expression apparatus and a method based on a context and a intent awareness, are provided. The apparatus and method may recognize a context and an intent of a user and may generate a language expression based on the recognized context and the recognized intent, thereby providing an interpretation/translation service and/or providing an education service for learning a language.

Methods and systems for universal, automatic service selection are disclosed. A method for universal, automatic service selection includes receiving signaling messages and identifying signaling connection control part (SCCP) messages from the signaling messages. The SCCP messages are decoded to extract SCCP parameters and application layer parameters from the messages. A routing address translation service is selected for each of the SCCP messages based on application identifiers that identify application layer message types alone or in combination with other parameters. Selecting the routing address translation service in this manner makes the service selection more robust and universally applicable, especially in networks where different or non-standard selector parameters are utilized.

A system and method is provided for real time transcription or translation services. In one aspect of the system and method, a user requests transcription/translation service with certain service parameters. It is determined what resources can be used for such service, and, if all the service parameters can be met, the service is performed. Resources include live stenographers or translators, and computer processing power. If all the service parameters can not be met, it is determined whether to perform the service by meeting only some of the service parameters. These determinations may be programmed into the system beforehand. A NAS (Network Attaches Storage) switch authenticates a client on multiple file servers for proxy services. The NAS switch enables proxy services by successively authenticating the client on the file servers using referrals. The NAS switch further comprises a connection manager to establish connections to the client and the file servers, a referral manager to redirect the client for successive authentications, and a transaction manager to perform data transfers with the file servers on behalf of the client. The system components support DFS (Distributed File System), and communicate using a protocol dialect that supports referral mechanisms such as NFSv4 (Network File Server version 4) or CIFS (Common Internet File System). A wireless device receives from a wireless network an updated priority target language list according to the location of the wireless device. A language and location database module associates probable target languages in a given area. The wireless network node receives the location of the wireless device through a network-based location means or through a GPS system and compares the location of the wireless device to the language and location database. The wireless network transmits to the wireless device an updated priority language list based on the data in the language and location database such that the wireless device pre-selects the most likely target language if the user launches the language translation application. When the user launches the language translation application, the selection of the target language is simplified since the most likely target language is pre-selected.

An approach provides interdomain traversal to support packetized voice transmissions. A signaling message is received for establishing a voice call from a first endpoint associated with a first domain to a second endpoint associated with a second domain. A method of, and corresponding headset computer for, performing instant speech translation including, establishing a local network including a link between a first and a second headset computer in which preferred language settings of each headset computer are exchanged, transmitting captured speech in a first language from a first headset computer to a network-based speech recognition service to recognize and transcribe the captured speech as text, receiving the text at the first headset computer, broadcasting the text over the local network to at least the second headset computer, receiving the text at the second headset computer, transmitting the received text from the second headset computer to a network-based text translation service to translate the text to a text in a second language, receiving the text in the second language at the second headset computer from the network-based text translation service, and displaying the translated text at the second headset computer.

A system and method for automated languages translation comprising a database containing pre-translated patterns that were translated by human translators, generating a transparent and seamless translation service. Whenever a user issues a translation request, the system offers suitable translated sentences from the aforementioned database. The system does so by separating the submitted text into elements and using a pattern recognition mechanism to identify a matching translation to each element. If there is no matching translated pattern in the database or if the user does not approve the translated sentence, the system transparently uses a suitable registered human translator to translate. The new translation is stored in the database, thus perfecting the database, and the translation request is delivered.

The present invention relates to telemetry methods and systems and more particularly, to telemetry network connectivity systems, devices and methods. In accordance with various embodiments, a suite of software components configured to provide machine-to-machine network connectivity includes a configurable device translation server module, a complex message constructor and at least one database. A system and method are directed towards managing interoperability between disparate IM networks. A clearinghouse server is provided that receives IM messages from disparate IM networks. The clearinghouse server examines the IM message to determine it is in a compatible protocol for a destination IM network. If the IM message is incompatible a translation service is used to translate the message into a compatible protocol. The translation service further determines if the destination IM network supports a feature employed by the received IM message. If the feature is supported or can be translated to a supported feature, the translation service will also perform the feature translation. As such, the viewers are able to receive the closed captioning text in languages other than that used for the closed captioning originally provided with the video program. The original closed captioning text may be translated from one language to another by a centralized closed captioning processor, such that the customer equipment for various subscribers can take advantage of centralized translation services. The code subsequently analyzes, collects, and electronically transmits un-translated character strings via the Internet to the service's computer server for human or machine translations. The translated strings are then stored within the administrator's record on a system database. When a user of the administrator's website selects the supported language to view the website in, then the translated text immediately appears on the administrator's website and is stored in the user's device's memory. When the user visits the website in the future, the system will determine if new un-translated strings appear on the website, and translate and store them and/or store the identity of the supported language on the user's device.
