A patient transfer system including a patient support panel, a first base member mounted on a first support structure, e.g., a gurney, and a second base member mounted on a second support structure, e.g., a patient treatment table. The patient support panel has a pair of longitudinally extending side rails. Each base member has at least one clamp arranged to engage a rail of the patient support panel to hold it in place thereon. The clamps are releasable to enable the patient support panel to be slid off of one base member and onto the other base member. If the support structures are spaced apart at least one bridging member is provided to bridge the gap therebetween and allow the patient support member to be slid thereacross.

The present application is directed to a knife locker and sanitizing system consisting of a unique combination of one or more knife storage lockers that can individually be locked with a pad lock by the person using that set of knives. The incorporation of a locking bar that is attached to the knife locker by the means of a locking fixture and having a separate padlock facilitates a means where by a knife maintenance employee can open all the locker doors at one time to service the knives. Adjacent to the knife lockers will be located a sanitizing chamber where the knife blades and handles along with other food processing implements can be immersed in a sanitizing liquid. An alternate embodiment of the sanitizing chamber will incorporate ultraviolet lights on either side of the unit for the sanitizing process, enabling the ultraviolet light to not only disinfect the implement blades, but also the handles. The system will be mounted on a wall by the means of a system mounting bar with top and bottom rails attached to the lockers and the sanitizing chamber, thereby enabling the scaling up or down of the number of units as required.

An insulated core stud for use in the core structure of at least one of a stator and a rotor of a dynamoelectric machine is adapted to pass through holes contained in laminations of the core structure. The insulated core stud has a central portion and a first layer of heat shrinkable tubular insulation shrunk fit onto and covering at least the central portion of the core stud that passes through the laminations. One or more additional layers of heat shrinkable tubular insulation are shrunk fit onto at least a portion of the first layer of insulation that passes through the laminations. These second layers provide mechanically protection to the underlying layers of insulation against breaks occurring in the electrical insulation when the laminations and core studs are assembled into the core structure.

An apparatus and methodology is presented for magnetically conditioning any fluid or gas transported through a conduit, pipe or by other means. A framing system for a new or existing wall, structure and/or the like is provided that uses just one type of unit or member for various framing applications, namely serving as a framing stud and framing plate or track—i.e. a universal framing unit. The universal framing unit is formed from a single piece of metal as a three-wall member having a front wall, a first lateral wall, and a second lateral wall. The first lateral wall is continuous with a first lateral side of the front wall via a first curved transition so as to be generally perpendicular relative to the front wall, while the second lateral wall is continuous with a second lateral side of the front wall via a second curved transition so as to be generally perpendicular relative to the front wall. A first slot is formed in the first curved transition and extends from a first end of the universal framing unit a first length along the first curved transition. A second slot is formed in the second curved transition and extends from the first end of the universal framing unit a second length along the second curved transition. A notch may be provided at the junction of the slot and the respective lateral wall to create a wider entrance to the slot. Preferably, the second end of the universal framing unit has the same first and second slot configurations in the first and second curved transitions.

The present invention discloses a camera door opening/shutting apparatus for a portable communication device. The apparatus includes a camera door disposed at a main body to expose or cover a camera lens included in the main body according to a sliding movement of the camera door, and a door sliding part disposed between the main body and the camera door to slidably couple the camera door with the main body.

A speed nock for use with an archery bow includes a first enlarged portion and a second enlarged portion connected via a central portion. The central portion has a maximum dimension smaller than maximum dimensions of the first and second enlarged portions. The central portion is positioned between strands of a bowstring of the bow so that the strands pinch the central portion, at least assisting in holding the speed nock in place along the bowstring. The speed nock can be moved along the bowstring to a selected location that maximizes energy imparted to an arrow shot from the archery bow, and thus the speed of the arrow. A related method of using the speed nock above is also provided.

An inexpensive sleeve and method of use are disclosed for easing application of a compression stocking onto a foot and leg. By reducing the friction usually encountered when applying a compression stocking or sock, the sleeve protects the foot and leg from injury, and helps to avoid the need for sophisticated stocking or sleeve manipulation. The sleeve is made from a low friction material, such as plastic, silk, Tyvec, or nylon, and therefore is easy to pull over the foot and leg while closely conforming thereto so as to avoid folding and bunching. The sleeve can be disposable and/or closed at one end. The method of use includes pulling the sleeve over the foot and leg, pulling the stocking over the sleeve, and then removing the sleeve through an open stocking toe or through the top of the stocking, leaving the stocking in place.

An X-ray cassette or a radiographic grid and X-ray cassette is (are) mounted within a device for positioning the cassette or grid and cassette beneath a patient lying upon a bed or other support to enable an X-ray image of a portion of the patient to be taken. The device has a plastics envelope formed of a material that is both substantially radiotranslucent and impervious to water or other biological fluids. This envelope defines first and second envelope sections separated from each other by a common edge. The first envelope section is generally rectangular in configuration and defines an openable pouch in which the X-ray cassette or radiographic grid and X-ray cassette are received. The second envelope section has a stiffening member therein. The second envelope section has its greatest width along the common edge and narrows to a minimum width at its edge furthest from the common edge. The stiffening member within the second envelope section is generally wedge shape in section, whereby the second envelope section has a thickness that tapers from a maximum thickness approximating the thickness of the radiographic grid and X-ray cassette at its greatest width adjacent the common edge to a minimum thickness at the furthest edge.

The latch comprises a latch housing mounted to the housing, and at least a first latch claw moveably mounted to the latch housing moveable between a latched and an unlatched position. A latch sensor system comprises a position sensor and a target, the position sensor adapted to detect and generate a latch signal when the target is in the predetermined position. The vehicle cargo compartment can be monitored easily and reliably when the first latch claw is in the latched position due to the position sensor and the target being arranged and adapted such that the predetermined position of the target is detected and the latch signal is generated, when the first latch claw is in the latched position.

The present invention is a long reach press comprising a low force actuator for operably urging first tooling into a working position. It further includes an opposed high force actuator for operably urging second tooling into engagement with the first tooling.
