The table or tables of the tenderizer head are flat and accept the face plates which may have a flat tenderizing surface or any of several textured tenderizing surfaces. The face plates are intended for a single use. Once used a face plate is discarded. The user selects the appropriate face plate for the task at hand, attaches it to the tenderizer and removes and discards it after use.
