A high power light emitting diode (LED) lighting assembly incorporated with heat dissipation module is provided. The LED lighting assembly includes a heat exchange base, at least one LED array, at least one heat pipe and a heat dissipation module. The heat exchange base includes at least one LED configuration plan for mounting of the LED array and at least a hollow part for insertion of the heat pipe. The LED array is arranged at a predetermined projecting angle at the LED configuration plane. The heat pipe includes a heated section, a cooling section and a conducting section, and contains a working fluid therein. The heat exchange base is mounted to the heated section and the heat dissipation module is mounted to the cooling section. The thermal energy generated by the LEDs is conducted from the heat exchange base to the heated section of the heat pipe, whereby allowing the working fluid in the heat pipe to be heated and vaporized, and flows, from the conducting section to the cooling section for dissipation at the heat dissipation module.

This invention provides an infrared illuminator and camera system for imaging of auto vehicle license plates. The system works in ambient light conditions, ranging from bright sunlight, to dim light, to dark, to zero ambient light. It yields high-contrast imaging of the letters and numbers on retro-reflective license plates. The images of the license letter and number combinations can be read manually by a remote operator. They can be converted to text format with optical character recognition computer hardware and software. The text data can then be compared to data files listing license numbers to provide further data about the owner of a licensed vehicle. A decision can be made quickly about whether to allow a vehicle to proceed through a gate, or whether to take other action. The system uses a mono camera that is enhanced for infrared sensitivity and combined with a high power infrared illuminator to maximize range at night, and with shutter speeds set up to capture clear license plate pictures even with fast moving vehicles and even with their headlights on and interfering with human observation of the license plates. Optical filtering to pass infrared in the range of the illuminator and to reduce light outside this range, combines with a lens set up, to avoid vertical smear and sensor overload caused by headlights at night and by highlight reflected glare from the sun in daytime.

There is provided An image projection apparatus comprising: a spatial light modulation element that modulates illumination light by switching the display and non-display statuses of the respective pixels based on pulse width modulation driving to perform gradation expression for each pixel; a light source section able to increase and decrease the amount of illumination light output according to an input controlled variable; a light source control section that periodically controls the light amount of the illumination light output from the light source section; and a projection optical section that projects images modulated by the spatial light modulation element, wherein the light source control section selectively controls the light amount of the illumination light output from the light source section by either one of a first mode in which the controlled variable is changed in a first control period that is shorter than the display period for the spatial light modulation element to display the input image information, and a second mode in which the controlled variable is changed in a second control period that is longer than the first control period.

The invention provides a large-power intelligent dimming multiple-output power supply for suppressing electric surge with a field-effect transistor. The power supply comprises an electric surge suppression unit, an LLC (Inductor-Inductor-Capacitor) resonance conversion unit, a synchronous rectification unit and more than one constant-current-output intelligent dimming unit, wherein a power resistor in the electric surge suppression unit is connected in parallel with the source electrode and the drain electrode of a field-effect transistor, and the loss of an electric surge suppression circuit is very low due to the extremely small on-resistance of the field-effect transistor so that the whole efficiency of the power supply is improved. The invention acquires the output efficiency up to 95 percent by the optimization design of parameters of an LLC resonance network, the constant-current-output intelligent dimming unit circuit of the invention increases the mean value of the output current by increasing the duty cycle of an output current when sensing infrared rays of a human body; and otherwise, the constant-current-output intelligent dimming unit circuit decreases the duty cycle of the output current but not decreases the peak value while no body passes by so as to ensure LED luminous power and prevent light from scattering over the ground.
