Box light

A box light includes a housing having first and second clamshell-halves. Each clamshell-half has a lamp face and an opposite exterior surface. At least one lamp and its corresponding protective enclosure is mounted in each of the lamp faces. Each of the lamp faces has at least one lamp-receiving aperture. The clamshell-halves are rotatably mounted to one another by a first hinge for rotation relative to another about the first hinge between open and closed positions. The open position includes selectively positionable open positions exposing the lamp faces so that an included angle between the lamp faces may be opened to two hundred seventy degrees whereby the lamps on each lamp face shines outwardly and oppositely of the housing when electrically powered. In the closed position the lamp faces are in closely adjacent opposed facing relation and the exterior surfaces are oppositely disposed. Also, when in the closed position, the at least one lamp and its protective enclosure on each of the first and second clamshell-halves is aligned and mated with the lamp-receiving aperture on the opposed facing lamp faces so as to insert at least the protective enclosure of each of the at least one lamps into mating engagement with the corresponding lamp-receiving apertures in the opposed facing lamp faces.

Battery powered portable electric light source systems

A battery powered portable electric light source has multiple sets of spare batteries contained in its battery compartment, whereby mixups between exhausted and fresh batteries are effectively avoided. A flashlight having a light output stronger than the mentioned electric light source is provided for use of batteries from the battery compartment of the mentioned portable container, and batteries are exchanged between that portable container and that flashlight. Apparatus for providing electric light have an electric light source requiring for energization a pair of batteries in series and a portable container for several pairs of these batteries connected each in series at a bottom of that container. Each of these several pairs of batteries includes a first battery having a first positive terminal and an opposite first negative terminal, and a second battery having a second positive terminal connected to that first negative terminal and an opposite second negative terminal. First positive terminals of first batteries of the several pairs of batteries and second negative terminals of second batteries of the several pairs of batteries are in substantially the same plane for selective application of the electric light source thereto for energization therefrom. A socket for the electric light source includes terminals corresponding to adjacent terminals of any one of the several pairs of batteries in that container. Unspent batteries in film packs may be used to energize light sources.

Portable work light clamp

A portable work light clamp system includes a first clamp handle assembly having a proximal end, a mid section and a distal end and a gripping member rotatably coupled to the proximal end of the first clamp handle assembly. The work light clamp system further includes a second clamp handle assembly having a proximal end and a distal end and a gripping member rotatably coupled to the proximal end of the second clamp handle assembly. The first clamp handle assembly and the second clamp handle assembly pivotally connected by a clamp pivot for pivotal opposed operation. A light assembly is coupled to the distal end of the first clamp handle assembly. The light assembly includes a swivel base member and a light housing pivotally coupled to the swivel base member by a light pivot that enables the light housing to selectively pivot 50 degrees about a longitudinal axis of the light pivot. The light assembly further includes a light base coupled to the swivel base member and rotatable relative to the light base by a swivel connector that enables the swivel base member to selectively rotate 360 degrees around a longitudinal axis of the light base. The work light clamp further can include a slotted extension member having a length that is coupled to the distal end of the first clamp handle assembly and coupled to a light base by a connector that enables the light base member to slidably extend along the length of the slotted extension member.
