The present invention provides a
WiMax dual mode cellphone, employing a
WiMax processor module as a main processor of the cellphone, connecting with a
GSM processor module or an EDGE processor module by serial ports, the
GSM processor module or the EDGE processor module are used as a slave processor, the main processor and the slave processor are separated to allocate SIM cards, sharing a LCD display, a keyboard, a horn, a headphone, a
microphone, the audio channel switch between the main processor and the slave processor processes switching audio channel and voice information by an audio
simulation switch and a corresponding interrupt
signal collector. The invention also provides a switching method of the
WiMax dual mode cellphone, realized by transmitting interrupt to the WiMax processor module by the
GSM or EDGE processor module as the slave module. The invention reduces allocation requirements of the main frequency or slave frequency of the CPU, capable of freely controlling the
sleep state of the cellphone, greatly reducing the
standby power consumption, and improving the performance of the RF.
