50 results about "Mollusca" patented technology

Mollusca is the second-largest phylum of invertebrate animals after the arthropoda. The members are known as molluscs or mollusks (/ˈmɒləsk/). Around 85,000 extant species of molluscs are recognized. The number of fossil species is estimated between 60,000 and 100,000 additional species. The proportion of undescribed species is very high. Many taxa remain poorly studied.

Composition for mitigation of insects and/or mollusca

A composition including a bait and a borate is used to mitigate a population of target insects and / or mollusca. The composition may include attractive by-products of agriculture and manufacturing with or without semiochemicals or biopesticides prepared as point source units (such as pellets or microcapsules). The by-products attract insects and / or mollusca to a food source for the purpose of mitigating the target organism. The bait is combined with borates and is pelletized and / or encapsulated into micron size particles. The pelletized and / or encapsulated particles are broadcast (spread) over areas infested with the target insect. The insects ingest the composition and regurgitate the composition to the remainder of the insect population. Significant mitigation of the population of the target insects results with little to no effect on the environment. The composition is also passed on to the next generation due to cannibalism of the target insects. A feed through process wherein the composition is fed to an animal and is contained in the manure of the animal deposited as a point source location. The composition is either mixed in with the food of the animal or placed directly in the gut of the animal using a ball and gun method. The target insects are attracted to the manure and upon ingesting the manure, ingest the composition and are dispatched.

Molluscan bivalve cage system

A molluscan bivalve cage system includes a cage formed of a mesh material of sufficient porosity to allow entry of molluscan bivalves. A fixed buoyant mechanism is secured to an upper surface of the cage and an anchor counterweight mechanism maintains the bivalve cage in a relatively stable position within a marine environment. An adjustable stirrup mechanism adjusts the height of the bivalve cage above the bed of a marine environment during various stages of growth of the molluscan bivalves.

Method for smoke-infusing crustaceans or mollusks or fish

A method of smoke-infusing proteinaceous foods comprises the following sequential steps: a) enclosing the proteinaceous foods in a vacuum-treating zone; b) introducing smoke directly or indirectly from a smoke generation zone into the vacuum-treating zone; c) subjecting the proteinaceous foods to vacuum purging at a negative pressure in the vacuum-treating zone, thereby infusing smoke into the proteinaceous foods; d) repeating the steps of introducing smoke directly or indirectly from the smoke generation zone into the vacuum-treating zone; subjecting the proteinaceous foods to vacuum purging at a negative pressure in the vacuum-treating zone at least fifty times in pulsed sequences of smoke introduction stage / vacuum purging stage / vacuum release stage for the efficient infusion of smoke into the proteinaceous foods; and e) a post-chill resting cycle of the smoke-infused proteinaceous foods at a suitable temperature and for a suitable period of time.

Protective device for animal breeding, such as the breeding of fish, mussels or molluscs

A protective device for animal breeding, such as the breeding of fish, mussels or molluscs, includes at least an inner cage that can be positioned in a body of water and which is formed from a net. This cage is dimensioned here with a mesh width such that the animals to be bred are retained within the net. It is preferably totally surrounded by at least one outer cage spaced apart from the latter and which is produced from a net made of thin wires and / or strands. The mesh width of the outer cage is greater than that of the inner cage, and it is thus guaranteed that predators cannot damage the net of the inner cage from the outside.

Sea mollusc fungicide

The invention provides a sea mollusc fungicide. The sea mollusc fungicide is compounded by deionized water, alcohols, guanidines and quaternary ammonium salts, wherein the mass ratio of the deionized water to the alcohols to the guanidines to the quaternary ammonium salts is (40-60):(20-40):(1-15):(1-15). The invention simultaneously provides a production method of the sea mollusc fungicide. The sea mollusc fungicide is a special fungicide for molluscs in a cooling water system, and is applicable to treatment of the molluscs such as green shells, brown shells, barnacles and hydroids. The fungicide has little effect on various fishes and shrimps, and is free of corrosion on equipment, simple in dosing equipment, small in maintenance amount, readily biodegradable and small in damage to the environment.

Method for repelling harmful mollusks for dendrobium officinale

The invention relates to the technical field of agricultural pest prevention and control, in particular to an agricultural prevention and control method for repelling mollusks such as snails and slugs harming dendrobium officinale. A film is wound around a supporting column of a greenhouse seedbed or a water pipe of spraying facilities or a simulated wildly planted trunk by 1.5-4 turns and then is fixed, a rope soaked in saturated salt water is wound around the film by 4-8 turns from bottom to top and then is fixed, and the portion, above the straw rope, of the film is folded downwards to be in a funnel shape. The method can effectively prevent underground harmful mollusks from harming dendrobium officinale for a long time, the quality of fresh branches of dendrobium officinale can be improved as no insecticide is used in the growth process, and the repelling effect can last for three to four years. The method is simple, practical and low in cost, and solves the problem that dendrobium officinale is harmed by underground harmful mollusks in the planting process for a long time.

Amplimers for mitochondrial COI gene of Bellamya and application thereof

The invention specifically relates to amplimers for a mitochondrial COI gene of Bellamya and application thereof, belonging to the technical field of identification and classification of zoobenthos. The invention is characterized in that specific primers are designed according to the COI gene sequences of a part of species belonging to a same subclass and amplification verification is carried out; and an application method for the amplimers comprises the following main steps: (1) extracting the total DNAs of tissue of Bellamya samples; (2) based on the complete mitochondrial COI sequence of Mollusca, Prosobranchia, published in the NCBI nucleic acid database (http: / / www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov / nuccore), carrying out comparative analysis on the total DNAs by using Cluster W2, designing the specific primers and carrying out synthesis; (3) subjecting the COI genes of to-be-identified Bellamya individuals to amplification via the primers by using a standard PCR system according to a standard PCR procedure; and (4) optimizing splicing and sequencing results and comparing the sequencing results in the NCBI nucleic acid database via BLAST.
