System, method, and computer program product for responding to natural language queries

A system, method, and computer-program product is provided for answering a natural language query in an automated manner. The answer is drawn from a body of textual information. Concepts in the body of textual information in a domain are expressed as a set of semantic headers. The semantic headers represent formalizations of select concepts in the information domain, and are created on the basis of expected queries. Moreover, queries are reduced to a canonical form. The answering process comprises the step of matching the formalized query, or translation formula, to one or more semantic headers. The pieces of text which correspond to those semantic headers are returned to the user as answers. The generality of a translation formula can be controlled. Steps can be taken to make the translation formula more general or less general. A user can clarify a translation formula if necessary. If the user provides a term that is not immediately recognized, then the user will be presented with a number of options. Each option represents one way in which the term in question can be clarified. The invention can then incorporate the new term into the translation formula and attempt to match one or more appropriate semantic headers. In addition, the domain can be expanded by parties other than the provider of the domain.

Query routing based on feature learning of data sources

Query routing is based on identifying the preeminent search systems and data sources for each of a number of information domains. This involves assigning a weight to each search system or data source for each of the information domains. The greater the weight, the more preeminent a search system or data source is in a particular information domain. These weights Wi{1=0, 1,2, . . . N] are computed through a recursive learning process employing meta processing. The meta learning process involves simultaneous interrogation of multiple search systems to take advantage of the cross correlation between the search systems and data sources. In this way, assigning a weight to a search system takes into consideration results obtained about other search systems so that the assigned weights reflect the relative strengths of each of the systems or sources in a particular information domain. In the present process, a domain dataset used as an input to query generator. The query generator extracts keywords randomly from the domain dataset. Sets of the extracted keywords constitute a domain specific search query. The query is submitted to the multiple search systems or sources to be evaluated. Initially, a random average weight is assigned to each search system or source. Then, the meta learning process recursively evaluates the search results and feeds back a weight correction dWi to be applied to each system or source server by using weight difference calculator. After a certain number of iterations, the weights Wi reach stable values. These stable values are the values assigned to the search system under evaluation. When searches are performed, the weights are used to determine search systems or sources that are interrogated.

The invention discloses a method for efficient information transmission in a WIFI system based on an OFDMA technology. In a WIFI network, an MAC frame field format is designed in order to support the OFDMA technology. The method comprises the steps of designing a frame type field and adding a control information domain field into the standard frame format, wherein the control information domain field is used for bearing control information and property information of data to be transmitted. The control information mainly comprises task priority, properties of the data to be transmitted, channel detection signals, channel state information, resource distribution information, competitive subscriber terminal information and backoff window information. Different types of frames bear information in corresponding fields in the transmission process, an access point acquires terminal quantity and information sent by a request, terminal resources are distributed, and a dynamic transmission mechanism is realized. The method disclosed by the invention mainly solves a problem of centralized requests of a great number of terminals in the transmission process of the WIFI system and a problem of diversity in data to be transmitted, and increases the simultaneously accessed user capacity.
