153 results about "Lug nut" patented technology

A lug nut or wheel nut is a fastener, specifically a nut, used to secure a wheel on a vehicle. Typically, lug nuts are found on automobiles, trucks (lorries), and other large vehicles using rubber tires.

Motor vehicle pneumatic jacklift system

A permanently mounted pneumatic jack (jacklift) system for motor vehicles, as well as an impact wrench for removing and installing lug nuts. The system provides a quick and safe means of lifting one or more tires off the ground for replacement of a spare or rotating the tires on a motor vehicle. The present invention comprises two or more (typically four) pneumatic jacks, a system ON/OFF switch, an air compressor, a 120-psi air tank, air lines (hoses), individual jack extend/retract switches, jack position-locking pins, safety-locking pins, and impact wrench. Each jack can be locked in a horizontal stowaway or vertical operational position. The jack is cylindrical shaped with a telescopic body that can be extended or retracted as needed to raise and lower the vehicle. A solid cylindrical lift rod slides inside a cylindrical outer housing with a high-pressure seal means used to maintain pressure on the support rod. A ground support foot (plate) is mounted on the lower end of the solid cylindrical lift rod to provide sufficient traction with the ground to support the lifting process. A quick release air coupler is included on the pneumatic chamber to support the use of an air hose and impact wrench. An extend/retract toggle switch is included on each jack to control a solenoid valve to allow the air to flow into the jack. A quick release safety-locking pin is used to mechanically pin the solid cylindrical lift rod to the outer housing once the desired height is achieved to assure that the vehicle does not fall down in the event of a high-pressure air loss, thereby providing safety to the person(s) working around the vehicle. An air compressor located in the engine compartment of the vehicle is mechanically belt-driven off the engine. A high-pressure air line carries the air to a high-pressure (at least 120-psi) air tank located in the trunk or other suitable storage area on the vehicle. Separate air lines extend from the air tank to the individual jacks.

Flexible joint and long nut for flexible joint

A flexible joint comprises: first cylindrical bodies comprising a pair of spherical ring members; a second cylindrical body comprising a sleeve relatively movably inserted in the first cylindrical bodies from an axial direction X of the second cylindrical body; third cylindrical bodies comprising a pair of casing tubes which are fitted around outer peripheral surfaces of the first cylindrical bodies and are provided with mutually slidable spherical inner peripheral surfaces, the casings being formed at their opposite ends with connecting portions, and being provided at their outer peripheral surfaces of large diameter portions with projections having through holes; and rods capable of being inserted into the through holes formed in the outer peripheral surfaces of the large diameter portions, each of the rods being provided and fixed between the projections of the pair of third cylindrical bodies for restricting the telescopic movement of the tube joint, wherein the rods comprise a pair of rods connected to each other in the vicinity of a substantially central portion between the opposed projections, the pair of rods being threadedly connected to at least one of bottomed holes opened and formed on opposite ends of a long nut which is provided at its substantially central portion with a notched portion so that when excessive external force is applied, the notched portion is preferentially broken to restore telescopic flexible effect of the tube joint.

Lower shell of steel-aluminum hybrid battery pack

The invention discloses a lower shell of a steel-aluminum hybrid battery pack. The lower shell comprises a frame structure, cross beams, longitudinal beams, bottom plates and middle lifting lugs; themiddle lifting lugs penetrates through the cross beams and the bottom plates from top to bottom and are fixed to the cross beams and the bottom plates, and each of the middle lifting lugs comprises amiddle lifting lug body of a cylindrical hollow structure, wherein the top end of the middle lifting lug body is matched with a middle lifting lug nut, and the lower end of the middle lifting lug bodyis sequentially installed in a middle lifting lug reinforcing plate and a middle lifting lug sleeve in a penetrating mode; the frame structure is formed by splicing four frames, the four frames are divided into two groups, and each group of frames are the same in structure and are oppositely arranged; the cross beams are formed by embedding an inverted U-shaped thin-wall structure with a lightening hole into an inverted T-shaped thin-wall structure with a lightening hole, and the frame structure is made of aluminum alloy; the cross beams, the longitudinal beams, the middle lifting lugs and the bottom plates are all made of steel. According to the invention, the advantages of aluminum alloy and high-strength steel are fully absorbed, the lightweight and low-cost design of the battery packbox body is realized, the welding deformation is small, the connection strength is high, and the processing efficiency is high.
