Linear motion guide unit

A linear motion guide unit is disclosed in which a tubular composition to provide a return passage is high in mechanical stiffness and also makes certain of sustainable application of lubricant to rolling elements rolling through the return passage, thereby ensuring proper lubrication under maintenance-free operation. The tubular composition to make the return passage is composed of a tubular skeleton to guide the rollers, and a porous compact impregnated with lubricant. The tubular skeleton is made up of forward and aft ends, a lengthwise column and a flexible spine, which extend between the ends. The flexible spine includes lengthwise opposite relief portions and a flexible middle section, which fit into the porous compact with separating from the porous compact to make a clearance between them. The flexible spine deflects as the rollers roll through the return passage, permitting the rollers coming into touch with the porous compact to lubricate the rollers.

The wood siding system has air circulation gaps between overlapping siding boards and between the siding boards and a supporting wall. The wood siding system has the appearance of old-fashion clapboards; a limited flexibility that closely imitates a solid wall, and metal retainers with installation gauge, and lips and ridges to control the direction of shrinkage and swelling of the wood boards to preserve the visual appeal of the wood siding. A wood grain pattern on the front surface of each siding board is a mirror image of a wood grain pattern on the front surface of another siding board.

Tamper-resistant rodent bait station

A pre-baited consumer bait station for rodents which is gnaw resistant and has other design features to make the bait station resistant to rodenticide access by children, dogs, other pets, domestic animals, and nontarget wildlife. An injection molded translucent cover is permanently locked to a base about the cover's edges and center by elastic actuated hooks which engage receptacles on the base. The cover forms a labyrinth joint with a peripheral wall of the base. Double walls on exterior portions of the peripheral wall strengthen the walls where they form part of a closely confining bait receptacle which surrounds a bait block on portions of all sides. Circuitous internal passageways limit access to the bait. An interior wall extends to support the cover center.

Systems and methods for supporting tanks in a cargo ship

There are disclosed systems and methods for supporting cargo tanks within the hold of a liquefied gas carrier by establishing a series of spaced-apart pedestals along the longitudinal axis of a tank, said pedestals positioned in conjunction with the ship's structural components. These pedestals are of wood or other suitable thermal insulating and load bearing material fixed to the tank below its circumferential diameter along both the starboard and port tank sides. The pedestals rest on structural longitudinal stringers laying port and starboard in the horizontal plane and fixed and supported by the ship's hull structure. Longitudinal and transverse pedestal movement is controlled by stops attached to the stringers at one or more of the pedestals. The stops contact the pedestals via bearing pads which constrain the pedestal in one direction but permit its movement in another.
