In one embodiment, a method and system allows organization terminal (402) to define a group session based upon location and other criteria associated with participating terminals (410). Location criteria may include cell definition (110), group definition (126), and/or sub-group definition (130). Various components (404-408) may be utilized to perform application/location/management functions to determine the qualifications of each terminal of terminal group (410) to join the group. Once terminals (410) have been pre-qualified based upon their location and other group criteria, terminals (410) may accept an invitation to join the location based group session and begin application sharing, group chat sessions, and downloading as required to facilitate the location based group session.

The sharer may time out an annotation, or may delete the annotation if the collaborative application's display has scrolled underneath the annotation, causing the annotation to “lose its place” in the display and become meaningless.

A Sharing Data Fabric (SDF) causes flash memory attached to multiple compute nodes to appear to be a single large memory space that is global yet shared by many applications running on the many compute nodes. Flash objects stored in flash memory of a home node are copied to an object cache in DRAM at an action node by SDF threads executing on the nodes. The home node has a flash object map locating flash objects in the home node's flash memory, and a global cache directory that locates copies of the object in other sharing nodes. The manager agent determines whether the predetermined time period has been exceeded before another service request is received at the service agent, and if not then the service agent attempts to authenticate the user using the stored authentication information. A networking conferencing and collaboration tool utilizing an enhanced T.128 application sharing protocol. This enhanced protocol is based on a per-host model command, control, and communication structure.
