A method of customizing a graphical user interface (GUI) having one or more command structures (such as toolbars, pull-down menus, or status bars), by dynamically modifying the command structure in response to direct manipulation of the command structure using a graphical pointer of the GUI controlled by a pointing device (e.g., mouse). The structures may be modified using a direct manipulation "drag-and-drop" procedure. A command item can be dragged from a first location within a command structure to a second location within the same command structure, simply moving the position of the item within that structure. The command item can also be dragged from a first location within a command structure to a second location outside of the command structure, such as to a trash bin provided by the GUI (for deletion of the item), or to a second command structure (for moving or copying the item, e.g., from a toolbar to a pull-down menu). Customized interfaces can be saved and maintained with password protection, allowing a system administrator to lock an interface.

A lift apparatus for conveying, lifting and at least partially inverting a refuse container for emptying into a dumpster or a refuse receptacle. The apparatus preferably has a base with wheels and a handle to facilitate transport. In one embodiment, the handle telescopes vertically and is hook shaped and adapted for engaging the lip of a dumpster or garbage chute. A pair of offset pivot arms is pivotally mounted to the frame and to a bin carriage, into which a refuse receptacle may be received. An inventory system with feedback for picking or placing items is disclosed. In this system, there is a plurality of bins or storage locations, one for each item stored. The bins are typically used in a warehouse to fulfill and ship orders of a list of items. Each bin or pair of bins is equipped with a module for directing a picking specialist to the correct bin for manually picking an order. When the picking specialist reaches into a bin to select an item, a passive heat sensor senses heat from the picker's hand, or a magnet detecting circuit detects a magnet on the picker's hand or wrist. This provides positive feedback that the correct bin was sought to retrieve the item, or an alarm or other signal may indicate the incorrect bin. The system may also be used to replenish inventory or return items to stock.

By an embodiment of the invention, garbage classification information tracing is realized, and the garbage classification tracing method and device facilitate garbage throwing persons, and are convenient to popularize.

The invention relates to a hybrid vacuum sweeper. A chassis is provided with an engine, a gear transfer case, a silicon rectifying generator, a storage battery, a power converter, a motor, a dustbin, a suction tube, a suction cup, a fan, a water tank and a water pump. The engine drives the silicon rectifying generator and the fan respectively. The silicon rectifying generator is connected with the power converter and the storage battery to output generated electric current. The power converter is connected with the motor to drive a rear axle shaft to drive the vacuum sweeper to run. The fan sucks dust and garbage on the ground in front of the suction cup into the dustbin through the dustbin, the suction tube and the suction cup. A vehicle mountable system for cleaning trash receptacles with wash-water. The system includes an enclosure with an access opening, supported on the vehicle, and a carriage disposed within the enclosure. A spray head is aligned to impinge wash-water against the trash receptacle while it is engaged with the carriage. A basin is aligned to accumulate wash-water drainage from the spraying operation. A spray shield is operated to a closed position that reduces wash-water effluence from the enclosure. The system may include a filter and means for sanitizing wash-water that is accumulated by the basin and recirculated through a holding tank. An automated arm engages a trash receptacle to engage and disengage the trash receptacle with the carriage through the access opening in the enclosure. Plural trash receptacles can be engaged with the carriage and advanced through plural positions within the enclosure. A second spray head aligned to impinge rinse-water against the trash receptacle, and a second basin for accumulating rinse-water drainage may be included in the system. A trash receptacle drying means may also be included within the enclosure.
