This invention discloses a double-stranded
RNA-nanomaterial composite carrier and its application in the control of
soybean rust. Using the PpAFF
gene, a fungal
extracellular membrane protein of
soybean rust fungus, as a target, and its transcript as a template, double-stranded
RNA is synthesized and sprayed onto the surface of soybean leaves. This silences the PpAFF
gene, effectively alleviating
soybean rust symptoms. The
base sequence of this
gene is shown in SEQ ID NO:1. The synthesized nanomaterial MNB can inhibit the
germination of urediniospores of soybean
rust fungus and stimulate immune responses in various plants such as soybean, wheat, rice, and pepper, improving
crop resistance to the
pathogen. The method of spraying the MNB-dsPpAFF complex onto the
plant surface is green, safe, and highly effective. This invention provides a highly promising solution for the control of fungal diseases in important crops such as soybean
rust and rice blast.
