A change controller application, process and system tracks modification to a configuration of a computerized device by receiving a change request indicating a requested change to an existing configuration of the computerized device and preparing a change notification message identifying the requested change to the existing configuration of the computerized device. The change controller transmits the change notification message to at least one change notification recipient and determines if a change acknowledgement is provided in response. If a change acknowledgement is provided from a change notification recipient that indicates confirmation of receipt of the change notification message, the system allows the requested change to the configuration of the computerized device to take place. If the change acknowledgement is not provided from a change notification recipient, the system conditionally operates the computerized device so that a monitoring device networked to the computerized device perceives that a configuration change to the computerized device may have taken place.

A messaging application that includes a transmit module configured to progressively transmit time-based media of a message to a recipient as the media is created. The transmit module transmits the message in either a messaging mode where the time-based media of the message is transmitted before a delivery route to the recipient is completely discovered or a call mode where the transmission occurs after providing a notification requesting synchronous communication and receiving a confirmation that the recipient would like to engage in synchronous communication. In response to the notification, the recipient has the option of rendering the incoming message in either a real-time mode as the time-based media of the message is received or a time-shifted mode by rendering the time-based media of the message at an arbitrary later time after it was received.

A computer system having a system memory and being arranged to permit a target program (90) installed on the system to be modified in a trusted manner. The system comprises a White-list Management Agent, WMA, module (10) for receiving, at a notification receiver (12), a notification that the target program (90) which is loaded into the system memory of the computer system has performed an update operation on the target program resulting in the generation and storage of a modified version of the target program on a storage device associated with the computer system. The WMA module is operable, upon receipt of a target program update notification, to determine if the program (90) as loaded into the system memory is in a trusted state by measuring the program (90) using a program measurer module (14) and comparing this, using a comparator (16), with a pre-stored value contained in a program whitelist (30), the pre-stored value being obtained from the program whitelist (30) using a whitelist reader/writer (18). A method and structure for transferring e-mail folders and files of a sender obtains sender input regarding which folders and files are to be transferred, and a list of recipients of the folders and the files. The invention automatically copies selected folders and selected files into a separate database and notifies the recipient of the transfer. It is determined if the instant message is received by the recipient. The determination includes receiving notification that the recipient is typing in a chat window or notification that the chat window is closed. The instant message is retransmitted to a second MAC address of the recipient in response to receiving a change in the first MAC address to the second MAC address before notification that the recipient is typing in the chat window or the chat window is closed.
