A
sewing machine for sewing articles, comprising: a
turret (3), constrained to a base (2), which bears a
sewing needle (4), facing downwards, with the relative sewing
yarn (5); first activating means, arranged in the
turret, for movement of the needle; a profiled arm (8) supported, in an oscillating way, by a unit (10) borne by the base and rotatably supporting a
bushing (11) located beneath the needle and open towards the needle, with the axis of the
bushing being coaxial to the axis of oscillation of the arm; stabilising means (12), associated to the arm (8) destined, with the oscillation in one direction of the arm, to impress an oscillation in the opposite direction, and of equal amplitude, on the
bushing (11); a rotary hook (13), located in the bushing (11); second activating means (14), acting in phase with the first activating means to draw the rotary hook in rotation for formation in the bushing, and in cooperation with the needle, with the relative sewing
yarn (5), of a sewing stitch; means for connecting the unit (10) to the base (2) to enable the oscillation of the unit according to coaxial arcs of circumference the axis (C) of which intercepts the topmost point (T) reached by the end (53) of the rotary hook (13) during the course of the rotation thereof.
