A spring is disposed within the spring pocket of the one or more segments to bias the segmented collet distally in the engaged position.

Pipe connector

A pipe connector (20) for securing a pipe has a collet (25) having a collet ring (27) at one end for limiting the movement of an O-ring (26), the collet further having an elastic collet leg (28) with a toothing (31). A cap (23) fits on the body (21) to hold the collet and urge the teeth (31) into engagement with the tube. Between the teeth (31) and the ring (27), the collet (25) has one outwardly extending projection (37) abutting the proximal end of the body. The cap has at least one recess (34) for a release tool (40) that can plastically displace a flexible tab (62) extending through the recess (34). Between the toothing (31) and the collet ring (27), the collet (25) has at least one radially extending alignment projection (70) that engages the inner wall of the body (21) to limit radial deflection of the collet.
