An automated warehouse system row cart includes a lifter that uses cams to raise and lower pallets. Three symmetrical cam lobes are cut into a hollow cylinder. Three matching cam lifters ride these lobes and are attached to an elevator plate. A stepper motor running in one direction is used to raise and lower the elevator plate by virtue of the action between the cam lobes and lifters.

A device is provided for hoisting a module for mounting into an overhead space, such as the crown of an aircraft fuselage. Containers for foodstuffs which are resealable and have an elevating lift therein. The lift is preferably operated by an operator that fits within the container to prevent loss of freshness of the foodstuff or other contents. One operator uses a slot or groove which winds at least partially around a tubular operator which is engaged by a follower that extends from the elevator lift. The follower may also engage with a feature on an inside wall of the container to prevent rotation of the lift and provide relative longitudinal motion between the lift platform upon which chips or other foodstuffs are supported so that the contents can be adjusted for easy access. A removable lid allows controlled opening and closing or resealing of the container to keep the foodstuff contents fresh when not being dispensed.

A system for supplying packaging cushions manufactured from cushion feedstock comprises a lift, a cushion-supply machine moveably supported by the lift, and a hopper. The elevation of the hopper entrance opening is higher than the elevation of the hopper exit opening. The lift is adapted to move the cushion-supply machine between a supply position, in which the elevation of the cushion outlet of the cushion-supply machine is higher than the elevation of the hopper entrance opening, and a reload position, in which the elevation of the cushion-supply machine cushion outlet is lower than the elevation of the hopper entrance opening.

An assembly for lifting a boat locatable adjacent a dock requires only two elongate vertically disposed pilings each having a lower end portion mounted into the floor of a body of water near the dock and an upper end portion extending upwardly adjacent the dock. A modular lift system that can be mounted on a stairway is disclosed. The system includes forks located on a first floor onto which the user rolls their wheelchair. The forks are motor operated to traverse a toothed track between the first floor and a second floor with the wheelchair and the user riding the forks. A wheelbarrow has an assisted lift dumping barrow that provides continuously biased forward tilting of the barrow relative to the frame of the wheelbarrow through two gas springs while maintaining the legs and wheel thereof on the ground. A first gas spring is connected to a right side handle of the frame of the wheelchair and to a right rear underside of the barrow. A second gas spring is connected to a left side handle of the frame of the wheelbarrow and to a left rear underside of the barrow. Each gas spring provides a continuous bias or pressure against the rear of the barrow for assisting in pivoting and lifting the rear of the barrow for dumping its contents. A latch keeps the barrow from raising until released. A separate rear barrow handle aids in overcoming bias of the gas springs for lowering the rear of the barrow.

A lifter is disclosed which allows for an improved operating envelope of the faceplate. The lifter utilizes a motor having 210 degrees of rotation and lifting arms of a unique geometry to rotate a faceplate from a retracted position below and substantially behind the lifter baseplate to a dumping position above and substantially behind a lower hopper edge for the purpose of dumping refuse carts into a refuse collection vehicle. This dumps refuse further into the vehicle hopper, which minimizes the number of packing cycles required on a collection route. A faceplate is attached to the motor using two lifting arms. The faceplate has a fixed upper hook and may be configured with a sliding, retractable lower hooking mechanism or a spring loaded, cam actuated rotating hook mechanism. The faceplate may include multiple sets of attachment points for attaching the lifting arms to facilitate the mounting of the lifter on a refuse collection vehicle over a range of heights without necessitating replacement of the lifting arms.

The elevator comprises means for detecting displacement of each of the ropes over a first limit position of the rope in the first axial direction of the rotatable traction member, and over a second limit position of the rope in the second axial direction of the traction member; and in that

• • displacement of one or more of said ropes in axial direction of the rotatable traction member over the first or second limit position is arranged to trigger the drive machinery to stop the rotation of the rotatable traction member.

A dumbwaiter is provided. The dumbwaiter includes an elevator mechanically coupled to a left glide and a right glide. The left glide is immediately adjacent to and located between a pair of left guides, and the right glide is immediately adjacent to and located between a pair of right guides. A strap is used for raising and lowering the elevator. As the glides are bound between respective pairs of guides, the elevator is protected from vibration. Thus, the dumbwaiter of the present invention may be suitable for being used in a mobile setting, such as a motor home in transit, for example.

A hitch mounted lift platform includes platform and lift base back-up sensors for detecting and alerting a vehicle occupant of a rear obstruction being approached to prevent collision and damage to the lift platform, items carried on the lift and the rear obstruction. The lift platform includes quick disconnect devices for connecting and disconnecting the associated wiring for easy attachment and detachment of the lift platform from the vehicle. The back-up sensors communicate with a visual display and/or speakers for visually and audibly alerting the vehicle occupant of any approaching rear obstructions. An audible alerting noise, such as beeping, is initiated by the back-up sensors detecting the vehicle is coming within a predetermined distance of an obstruction.

A watercraft lift with translating bunks supported by a base frame and having rollers mounted to the base frame to initially raises the watercraft upward when driven onto the lift sufficiently to be positioned above the bunks when in their lowered position and thereby permit operation of the lift in water too shallow for use of the bunks by themselves. The rollers are positioned relative to the translating bunks such that when the bunks are in their lowered position and the lift is used in sufficiently shallow water, the watercraft driven onto the lift initially engages the rollers, which lift the watercraft upward above the height when floating in the water and above the height of the bunks. The translating bunks are then used to lift the watercraft off of the rollers and upward to a raised position above the water.

A wheelchair lift for use in conjunction with a vehicle having a floor. The lift includes a power actuating system, a platform assembly having first and second platform sections, a linking assembly having first and second vertical arms connected to the platform assembly, and first and second fold-facilitating links connecting the first and second vertical arms respectively to the first and second platform sections. The linking assembly connects the power actuating system to the platform assembly. During a folding process, the first and second fold-facilitating links cause the first platform section to pivot with respect to the second platform section and the first vertical arm to move with respect to the second vertical arm.

An elevator includes a first elevator unit vertically movable in a hoistway, and a second elevator unit vertically movable in a hoistway. At least one of said elevator units is an elevator car. One or more belt-shaped hoisting ropes interconnects the first elevator unit and the second elevator unit. A drive wheel is provided for moving said one or more belt-shaped hoisting ropes. Each of the belt-shaped hoisting ropes passes around the drive wheel and includes consecutively a first rope section extending between the drive wheel and the first elevator unit, and a second rope section extending between the drive wheel and the second elevator unit. The elevator further includes non-driven cambered diverting wheels, each said first rope section being arranged to pass around a first cambered diverting wheel, in particular resting against a cambered circumferential surface area thereof, and each the second rope section being arranged to pass around a second cambered diverting wheel, in particular resting against a cambered circumferential surface area thereof. A rope monitoring arrangement is configured to monitor displacement of each of the first rope sections in the axial direction of the wheels away from a predefined zone, and displacement of each of the second rope sections in the axial direction of the wheels away from a predefined zone. The elevator is configured to stop the rotation of the drive wheel when one or more of the first and second rope sections is displaced in the axial direction of the wheels away from a predefined zone.
