An Internet media type is a standard identifier used on the Internet to indicate the type of data that a file contains. Common uses include the following: email clients use them to identify attachment files, web browsers use them to determine how to display or output files that are not in HTML format, search engines use them to classify data files on the web. A media type is composed of a type, a subtype, and zero or more optional parameters. As an example, an HTML file might be designated text/html; charset=UTF-8. In this example text is the type, html is the subtype, and charset=UTF-8 is an optional parameter indicating the character encoding. IANA manages the official registry of media types. The identifiers were originally defined in RFC 2046, and were called MIME types because they referred to the non-ASCII parts of email messages that were composed using the MIME specification. They are also sometimes referred to as Content-types. Their use has expanded from email sent through SMTP, to other protocols such as HTTP, RTP and SIP. General public demands low cost solutions for the consumption of the Internet media content in a traditional TV watching experience in the living room.
The present invention provides a software-based solution and includes methods, systems, and software codes for a cost effective delivery and organization of multimedia content, informational feeds and interactive advertisements transmitted over the Internet to the user's TV and/or entertainment system already present in the user's home or office.
This invention will further advance the convergence of the Internet, portable screen-based media devices, land line and mobile telephones, and traditional television communication channels. Media content will freely migrate from infinite number of providers/multi-platform environment per consumers' demand, anytime and anywhere.
A software program installed on a computer allows users to select from a list of channels obtained from an Internet database. The system accesses the corresponding URL of media content via the Internet. A separate URL is accessed at the same time as the main broadcast with each channel's program information which can be displayed on demand. The system sends the output to the user's AV system. A computer keyboard or a wireless remote control can be used to navigate channels and perform interactive functions of the user interface. Users can select different geographical areas to access local TV channels and radio stations. All channels have a designated alpha-numeric channel ID. The present invention discloses a text mining based attribute analysis method for internet media users. The method comprises the following steps of: (1) text mining: 1.1: creating a label main corpus; 1.2: creating a feature corpus; and 1.3: updating and maintaining the corpus; and (2) acquiring an attribute set of the internet media users: 2.1: extracting total historical article samples of the internet media users and washing the samples; 2.2: performing processing on the samples and obtaining a noise value; and 2.3: comparing the noise value with a threshold a, and if the noise value is smaller than the threshold a, performing model classification to form the attribute set of the internet media users. By using the method disclosed by the present invention, not only be the basic attributes of the users can analyzed and mined and the application range of identifying the attributes of the users can greatly enlarged, but also the basic attributes of the internet media users can be analyzed and the omnidirectional attributes of the internet media users can be provided with support; and the method not only has a wide commercial application value but also points out a studying direction for a mining algorithm of internet media user tags and the application of a knowledge atlas.
