Three-needle closure device

The present invention relates to a three-needle type vascular closure system. The closure system utilizes three needles in the form of a guiding device, an expandable needle, and a hooking device. The guiding device is used to make the initial opening in the vessel, where the opening provides access for a sheath through which a medical procedure is to be performed. The expandable needle is inserted into the vessel in which it expands radially from the needle to form a target. The hooking device is also inserted into the vessel and is used to hook the expandable needle so as to form an internal union between the hooking device and the expandable needle. The needles can then be retracted thereby extending a suture from the hooking device and forming an internal suture pass that can be used to approximate the tissue surrounding the initial opening in the vessel. In one embodiment, the suture is passed across the vessel opening prior to dilation of the vessel opening.

The single needle hemodiafiltration apparatus includes a blood supply system for supplying blood, a dialysis fluid supply system for supplying a dialysis fluid and a system for controlling a movement of a fluid between the two supply systems, and a filtration / back-filtration liquid supply unit provided in the dialysis fluid supply system is controlled in conjunction with a blood pump provided in the blood supply system so that blood is removed from the body synchronously with the filtration and returned to the body synchronously with the back-filtration, thereby enabling extracorporeal circulation with the single needle. At a time of filtration, substances are removed by diffusion and ultrafiltration. At a time of recirculation in the blood circuit, substances are removed by diffusion. A high removal efficiency that cannot be achieved by the conventional single needle blood dialysis can be achieved by appropriately selecting the stroke volume per cycle, the number and order of the filtration / back-filtration / blank phases and the blood flow rate in each phase.

Heat regenerative engine

A heat regenerative engine uses water as both the working fluid and the lubricant. In operation, water is pumped from a collection pan and through a coil around a cylinder exhaust port, causing the water to be preheated by steam exhausted from the cylinder. The preheated water then enters a steam generator and is heated by a combustion chamber to produce high pressure super heated steam. Air is preheated in a heat exchanger and is then mixed with fuel from a fuel atomizer. An igniter burns the atomized fuel as the flames and heat are directed in a centrifuge within the combustion chamber. The speed and torque of the engine are controlled by a rocker and cam arrangement which opens a needle-type valve to inject high pressure super heated steam into a cylinder having a reciprocating piston therein. The injected steam expands in an explosive action on the top of the piston at high pressure forcing the piston down and drivingly rotating a linked crank cam and crankshaft. Exhaust steam is directed through a centrifugal condenser having an arrangement of flat plates. Cooling air from blowers circulates through the flat plates to condense the steam to a liquid state. The water condensation is returned to the collection pan for subsequent use in steam generation.

The invention discloses a swelling-type hollow silk fibroin micro-needle drug delivery system and a preparation method thereof. According to the technical scheme of the preparation method, a swelling modified silk fibroin solution is casted in a PDMS mold to be vacuumized, dried and molded as a hollow needle-type housing. After that, a silk fibroin micro-needle array provided with cavities in the hollow needle-type housing is filled with powder-like or solution-like drugs, vacuumizing and drying are carried out to form a drug part. Finally, a layer of modified silk fibroin solution is cast, dried and molded as a cladded coating. The cladded coating is removed to obtain the swelling-type hollow silk fibroin micro-needle drug delivery system. The drugs are wrapped inside the cavities of the silk fibroin micro-needle arrays, so that the system is high in drug loading ratio and low in skin allergenicity and stimulation. The system facilitates the sustained release and the controlled release of micro-needle drugs. Meanwhile, according to the preparation method, since the swelling modified silk fibroin solution is cast, dried and molded in a mild processing condition, the system is low in processing cost and suitable for large-scale production. Drugs are directly wrapped in the cavities of the swelling hollow micro-needles, so that controlled-release drugs are swelled in the micro-needle base material. In this way, the biological activities of the controlled-release drugs are maintained, while the structure of the hollow silk fibroin micro-needle drug delivery system is greatly simplified.
