Method and system for automatically displaying content of a window on a display that has changed orientation

A method and system for automatically displaying content of a window on a display that has changed orientation is described. The content of a window, such as a dialog box, that has been authored for a particular size is repositioned and resized such that the window is viewable in its entirety when the display screen orientation is changed (e.g., from portrait to landscape.) A scroll bar is added to allow full access to content that is not visible within the display screen when necessary. Likewise, the scrollbar is removed when the scrollbar is no longer necessary in the new orientation. The repositioning and resizing of the window, as well as the addition or removal of the scrollbar occurs without interruption of other operating system applications.

Electromagnetic shielding carrying case for contactless smartcards and personal articles

An electromagnetic shielding carrying case comprising a front panel hingedly connected to a middle and rear panel. The front and middle panels each comprise an electromagnetic shielding member with a card holding means affixed to each. The carrying case has a closed position wherein upstanding walls of the front and rear panels are brought into engagement with one another so as to form an enclosure around the middle panel, thus shielding contactless smartcards contained within from being scanned by an RFID reader. A releasable locking means holds the front panel closed against the rear panel, and can be unlocked so the front panel pivots open, creating a first open position wherein contactless smartcards can be accessed in both card holding means. The middle panel can also be pivoted open to reveal a receptacle within the rear shell that holds paper currency or one additional card.

Method and system of creating floating windows for displaying sponsor information, messages or programs in non-obtrusive areas of the graphic user interface of a software application

Most software applications of the present time have graphic user interface comprising of a document display window and a document supporting substrate area. The document display window is the area where the application user inputs the data and views the results. The substrate areas contain the menus, tools, controls and other accessories, which support the execution of the document. The focus of the application user most of the time is the document window. The substrate area is accessed only intermittently for using the menus, tools and other controls. Depending upon the type of application and the view settings, about 60 to 80 percent of the visible display area is covered by the document window. The remaining 40 to 20 percent is the substrate area. The present invention uses the substrate areas of a software application for displaying sponsor messages / information, contained in one or more floating windows Such floating windows, continuously display in a user friendly way, sponsor messages / information, in a programmed fashion, and also contain URL address for linking the user to the sponsor's web site via an Internet connection, activated by clicking a keyboard mouse combination or by key strike alone or by clicking a button in the corresponding substrate area. The menus, tools and other controls hiding behind the floating windows can be accessed in a non-intrusive manner in one of the several automatic cursor-responsive ways described in the embodiment, without having to manually move such floating windows.

Flag clamping device for automobile antenna

The present invention is directed to a garment clamping device for automobile antennas upon which a flag or banner may be secured and displayed. The clamping device comprises two generally rectangular shaped halves which are joined together by a hinge strap mechanism. Each half has at least one aperture and at least one corresponding mounting stud for clamping the two halves around an automobile antenna. Further, each half has at least one barb and at least one corresponding aperture located on the other half for holding and supporting a display flag after the apparatus is clamped around the antenna. Extending from one half is a cap for securing the apparatus atop the antenna. In operation, the device is positioned around an antenna and the mounting stud, barbs and respective apertures are engaged. Once engaged, the hinge straps form a cavity wherein the antenna is displaced. The cap of the device is positioned so that it rests upon the antenna ball located atop the antenna thereby keeping the clamp in a visibly appealing position. In certain embodiments, additional support is provided by a tape strip or other adhesive. In certain other embodiments, an attachment means for attaching the device to a bicycle or motor bike is provided. The attachment means comprises an elongated shaft and a second clamping device.

System, method, and computer readable medium for measuring network latency from flow records

The disclosure presents a system, method, and computer readable medium for computing network latencies. Network devices using flow processors create network traffic summary information in the form of flow records. A harvester may gather, process, and analyze flow records to find matching flows. Using matching flows, a harvester computes the latency, either one-way or round-trip, between two devices on the network. This information may be exported or stored on other devices on the network. The teachings of the present disclosure enable wide network coverage through the use of existing network traffic summary records. Further, the present disclosure mitigates network slowdowns associated with monitoring equipment. The present disclosure also reduces or eliminates the need for clock synchronization between devices on the network.
