Arbovirus is an informal name used to refer to any viruses that are transmitted by arthropod vectors. The word arbovirus is an acronym (arthropod-borne virus). The word tibovirus (tick-borne virus) is sometimes used to more specifically describe viruses transmitted by ticks, a superorder within the arthropods. Arboviruses can affect both animals (including humans) and plants. In humans, symptoms of arbovirus infection generally occur 3–15 days after exposure to the virus and last three or four days. The most common clinical features of infection are fever, headache, and malaise, but encephalitis and hemorrhagic fever may also occur.

The invention discloses a primer pair composition and probe for simultaneously detecting 10 types of arthropod-borne viruses and application. The primer pair composition and probe have sequences shownin SEQ ID NO:1-30. The primer pair composition has the amplification efficiency of 87.20-102.00%. It is shown through sensitivity, repeatability and specificity detection results of all systems thatthe sensitivity is 101-102 copies per microliter and the inside-composition variable coefficient is smaller than 3%; it is verified through cross reactions among primer-probe pairs of 10 types of viruses that all the primer-probe pairs and other viruses have no remarkable amplification. Triple detection method of arbovirus liquid chips

The invention discloses a triple detection method of arbovirus liquid chips. The method comprises the following steps: respectively designing specific primers and probes aiming at three types of arboviruses comprising Chikungunya viruses, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever and Rift Valley fever viruses, determining the specificity of the primers and the probes via a single PCR and clone sequencing, and then carrying out multiplex-PCR amplification under the condition that the concentration ratio of the forward and reverse primers in an amplification reaction system is 1:1-1:8; then coupling the probes with fluorescent coding microspheres so as to prepare a microsphere mixing liquid and carrying out coupling quality control by coupling the probes; finally, carrying out a hybridization reaction on multiplex-PCR products and the microsphere mixing liquid, simultaneously adding streptomycin-phycoerythrin diluted by a nucleic acid detection buffer solution, and analyzing reaction products by utilizing a liquid chip detecting instrument. The method is good in detection specificity and can be used for simultaneously detecting the three types of arboviruses, and has high detection sensitivity due to the adoption of an asymmetric PCR amplification method in the process of the multiplex-PCR amplification.

An essential oil blend diluted in soybean oil against the bites of Anopheles stephensi, An. gambiae (the main malaria vectors in Asia and Africa, respectively); Aedes aegypti and Ae. albopictus (the main vectors of arboviruses listed above). Repellency tests, appraising the protection time for each species, were performed under laboratory conditions using human volunteers and nulliparous female mosquitoes. The results show that the natural repellent was extraordinarily effective against both Anopheles and Aedes genera.

An improved method of inducing protective immunity to the Human Immunodeficiency Virus through isolating a person's antigen-presenting cells from blood, then pulsing these cells with short peptides that bind the person's Class I Major Histocompatibility Complex Types and correspond to conserved segments of the HIV structural and functional genes. These pulsed dendritic cells are then injected intravenously, where they will travel to lymph tissue and prime HIV-specific Cytotoxic T Lymphocytes. The vaccine is custom-designed to each person and uses no HIV virus for safety purposes. The invention discloses application of isoretinoic acid in preparation of a product for controlling transmission of arbo-viruses and a method of the isoretinoic acid. The invention provides any one of the following applications (i)-(iii) of isoretinoic acid or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof: (i) an application in preparation of a product for controlling transmission of arbo-viruses; (ii) an application in preparation of a product for inhibiting the susceptibility of a transmission medium to an arthrovirus; and (iii) application in preparation of a product for reducing contact between a transmission medium and a host. It is found that by applying isoretinoic acid to the host, the efficiency of biting the host by a transmission medium can be reduced, for example, the susceptibility of the transmission medium to the arbo-viruses is inhibited, contact between the transmission medium and the host is reduced, and therefore transmission of the arbo-viruses is inhibited or blocked.
