System and method for monitoring performance of network infrastructure and applications by automatically identifying system variables or components constructed from such variables that dominate variance of performance

Systems, methods and computer program products for monitoring performance of network infrastructure and applications by automatically identifying system variables or combinations constructed from such variables that dominate variance of system performance. A method, system and computer program monitors performance of executing software applications and execution infrastructure components to detect deviations in performance. Logic acquires data from executing software applications and execution infrastructure, said data including descriptive data variables and outcomes data variables. Other logic statistically analyzes said acquired data to identify instances where the statistical description of operating behavior deviates from expected operating behavior and to indicate with a statistically significant probability that an operating anomaly exists within said executing software applications and execution infrastructure; and logic, cooperating with the logic to statistically analyze, filters out non-essential variables in the acquired data from being utilized by the logic to statistically analyze, such that remaining variables and combinations thereof account for a substantial contribution in the variance of performance of the executing software applications and execution infrastructure.

Method and system for customer service process management

A method and system for managing customer service processes for individual customers and populations of customers. In a specific embodiment within the health care field, a clinician creates or updates a draft care plan for a patient using generic or locally-adapted template metadata and tailors the draft care plan to the particular patient. The draft care plan includes a list of specific services (health care interventions) to be provided to the patient. The draft care plan can be routed to members of an inter-disciplinary team for input. Once finalized, workflow processes are instantiated for each intervention on the care plan. An itinerary is created for any required patient encounters, optimized using an algorithm that considers pre-existing process instances. A workflow automation server manages the execution of each workflow process instance, invoking resources according to workflow process specification metadata and workflow task type metadata. Care plans and encounter itineraries are automatically translated to a patient-understandable form and made available to patients online and via printed copy. Clinical practice and outcomes data are analyzed to identify opportunities for improvement of the metadata. The method and system also allows for the selection of a population of patients, the analysis of population data to identify opportunities for interventions (needed services), and the initiation of population interventions through batch updates to individual care plans.

System, apparatus, and method for user tunable and selectable searching of a database using a weigthted quantized feature vector

The invention disclosed herein concerns a data processing means for user tunable and selectable searching of a database wherein the data contained therein have associated descriptive properties capable of being expressed in numeric form. A quantized vector representative of the descriptive properties is created for each item in the database. This quantized vector becomes the fingerprint for each data item. The user submits a query item to be matched against the database for similarity. A fingerprint is calculated for the query item. The user may then assign weights to the individual descriptive properties based upon perceived importance. A newly weighted fingerprint for the query item is then compared with the weighted fingerprints for all the data in the database. A list of results sorted in order of decreasing similarity is presented to the user. The user may then change the previously assigned weights and then re-run the similarity search. This may be done as often as necessary to achieve the desired results. The invention describes similarity searching in a generic database. However, this invention is particularly desirable in databases containing chemical compound structure data or biological response screening result data. The process described herein may be run stand alone or as a preliminary screening search in a large database. If used for screening, it can greatly reduce the amount of data required for exactly matching a query item to the data in the database.

Mammography operational management system and method

In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, a method in a computer system is provided for managing mammography examination information. The method includes receiving electronically personal information of a patient, such as name, demographic information, and insurance information. Next, digital mammography images of the patient are produced by a modality for a screening examination and / or diagnostic examination, and mammography procedure results data is generated that reflect the results of a procedure examination, such as a biopsy. Then, the personal information, digital images, and procedure data of the user are stored in a database and are logically linked to each other. When a system user, such as a radiologist, is prepared to interpret examination results, the digital images and procedure data of the user are electronically displayed to the user responsive to a user request. At least a first portion of the digital images is electronically retrieved from the database, and at least a second portion of the digital images is retrieved from a Picture Archive and Communications System (PACS). Data from the user representing a medical interpretation of the digital images and procedure data are received, and a medical report based on the medical interpretation is automatically generated responsive to receipt of the interpretation.
