Integrated shopping cart for sale of third party products and services via the internet

The current invention includes an improved system for an e-commerce vendor to seamlessly incorporate products and services from a third party into its own e-commerce site. This system enables the e-commerce vendor to display the third party products and to accept orders and arrange fulfillment of these products through its own site in a manner that is seamless to the end user. When the e-commerce retailer requests product information from the supplier, the supplier provides the retailer with product information and URLs at which additional information can be located. The retailer uses this information to retrieve product images, descriptions and information and to display this information to its customer on its own site. Each of these items is tagged with a unique element identifier that contains a number of details about the product. This information tagged to the product image or description enables the product to be easily identified by both the retailer and the supplier. When the customer purchases the products from the retailer, the necessary information is tagged to the product information and, thus, is available for placement of the order with the supplier. This enables the product order to be routed to and fulfilled by the third party supplier in a manner that is transparent to the customer.

System and Method for Encoding and Controlled Authentication

A system and method for encoding and controlled authentication of security documents, ID cards, tickets and products and the like is described which can provide a secure means to determine them to be authentic. The method involves encoding the surface of the said security documents or ID cards or tickets and the like with of a pair of identity components comprising a pair of unique numbers, or a combination of a uniquely encoded image and a unique number, or a combination of a unique barcode and a unique number, or a combination of encoded images. The pair of identity components together comprise a challenge response pair and are related such that one component of the pair, the response, is a mathematical derivative of the other component, the challenge. A processing module determines the response by processing the challenge using complex mathematical functions such as one-way mathematical functions. If the processed response matches the encoded response, the challenge response pair is determined to be authentic. The use of one-way mathematical functions renders any attempt to compute the challenge response relation between the identity components outside polynomial time. The invention provides the means to modify the challenge response computation with a password or PIN number such that any document or ticket or product can be locked or unlocked accordingly. When locked, the password or PIN number corrupts the challenge response computation such that the challenge response pair is deemed non-authentic. The invention has direct application to Internet sales transactions.

A global electronic receipt platform for recording, managing and accessing transaction receipts through retailers' physical or internet based point of sale system. This system allows consumers to be assigned a Consumer Unique Identifier (CUI) and have retailers submit a given purchase transaction information to this global system through a secured internet connection between the retailer's point of sale system and the global electronic receipt system every time the CUI is presented. Programmed plugs-ins called Global Electronic Receipt Transfer Agents (GERTA) are made available to retailers which can be integrated into existing point of sale systems in order to process and submit electronic receipts to the Global Electronic Receipt Database Agent (GERDA). Each consumer is provided with an electronic receipt card which stores their Consumer Unique Identifier (CUI) and is presented at the time of purchase or in order to process a return, an exchange or claim a promotion such as a coupon or a rebate. This same UI is used to get access to different interfaces in order to view, manage and search through their transaction history consisting of the detailed electronic receipts generated from the different retail stores and stored in GERDA. The UI may also be linked to a credit card number and/or a phone number and/or email and/or any other loyalty card and/or any other data string accepted by the system and used to identify the consumer through the electronic receipt system in order to identify the customer at the time of purchase without the need for the electronic receipt card. Advertisers and retailers are provided with tools in order to send promotions and communicate with a selected consumer base which meets defined criteria based on the consumers' profile and purchase history stored in GERDA.

Methods and apparatus for providing telephone support for internet sales

Methods and apparatus for providing manned, e.g., live customer support to customers, e.g., people using the Internet to purchase goods and/or services are described. A person viewing a Web Site, e.g., a customer, is presented with a button which provides the opportunity to talk to a customer service representative. Upon activating the button, e.g., by clicking on it, the customer's computer or other Internet browser device sends a signal, e.g., a call request message, over the Internet indicating that the customer wants to talk with a service representative. The call request message includes the customer's telephone number and/or IP address. In response to the call request message, calling equipment is used to establish a customer service call between the customer and a customer service representative. The equipment can be owned by the telephone company thereby avoiding the need for E-business companies to make investments in telephone equipment. In addition, a customer service representative can be located either at the E-business site or remotely, e.g., at the customer service representative's private home or other site, with the representative being called by the conference equipment as required to service a customer. Voice over IP conference equipment may be used instead or in conjunction with telephone conference equipment where one or both of the customer and service representative have voice over IP capability.

Intelligent terminal cabinet for fresh vegetable sale, internet sale system and method

The invention discloses an intelligent terminal cabinet for fresh vegetable sale, an internet sale system and method. The intelligent terminal cabinet is composed of a main control cabinet and a plurality of auxiliary cabinets. A plurality of storage boxes are arranged below each auxiliary cabinet. Each storage box is provided with a refrigeration unit module and a thermal insulation system. The main control cabinet, all the auxiliary cabinets and all the storage boxes are respectively provided a unique ID address. Duplex communication is built between the main control cabinet and a mobile internet through a wire communication module and/or a wireless communication module. A first-stage communication bus is further built between the main control cabinet and each auxiliary cabinet, and a second-stage communication bus is built between each auxiliary cabinet and each storage box arranged below the corresponding auxiliary cabinet. Stable communication is guaranteed when extension is conducted due to the fact that a distribution-typed structure is adopted for the main control cabinet, the auxiliary cabinets and the storage box, and the normal work of other cabinets and boxes cannot be affected when any independent auxiliary cabinet or any independent storage box fails to work properly.
